That's awesome! I have one question, though - when are you going to add the Shatner-riffic pez cannons to the nacelles?

Okay...2022 posts is FAR too long for a discussion on blue warp nacelles (in fact I think we had this thread wrapped up by the 3rd or 4th post).

    so I offer this....

Actually, I'm just kidding. I love this thread :techman:, and I find it to be a harmless diversion from the critically important and life-changing discussions we otherwise have on this Trekkbbs board.

...By the way, I love Gep's 3D christmas-tree lit Sombreroprise. If it wasn't for this thread, we wouldn't have such great work as Gep's sombreroprise

    These are fantastic! :techman:

Are these the first 3-D sombrero concept photos?

Thanks, Gep, for continuing to increase this thread's awesome factor.

I'm looking forward to this thread continuing on to May 2009 and beyond.

Is it too early to start pestering JJ and/or Paramount for some sombrero-themed Easter Eggs on the DVD?

    I think so.

mverta had started on a 3D Sombreroprise months ago, but it never got beyond the initial mock-up stages.

And anyway, he didn't get it right. :p

    Sombrero sighting!

Was watching "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" tonight, and there's a sombrero hanging on the wall in Mac and Dennis's apartment. Was very prominently displayed in two scenes. And it's the black one with the silver trim (the "evil sombrero").

    Coincidence? I think not.

And yes, I need to get out more.

I didn't want to ressurect a Simon Pegg thread, so I'll drop this in here.

I've just watched Simon Pegg being interviewed on the Jonathon Ross show - he was asked about Star Trek, and obviously couldn't divulge any info - he was asked to do the Scotty accent by Ross, and I thought "Ooh! Should be interesting!"....but he said he's not allowed to do even that! Dammit! :D

    On-topic: Errr...sombreros and stuff. :D

Why, thank ye kindly, good sir. :D I also suggest anyone from, oh Pocket Books, or whoever it is that makes the decisions about the SOTL calender, check it out too. You know, for fun. :borg:

Good God. It's reached the point where we can recognize specific sombreros? (Worse is, I knew exactly which one you were talking about!)

You know what guys? I wonder if the "re-imagined" NCC-1701 should have blue warp nacells as the Enterprise NX-01 and C through E have?

I'd personally like to see it.

Is there any way we can make the saucer section look more like a sombrero?
