Look - I was just telling it like it is/was. Harry is a nice boy but he needs a shower. Seven (according to the Dr) "smells like a rose".

    I said "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

I totally had Teacake believing that Seven smelled like manure by twisting facts and the truth into positions that would make the worlds top porn stars turn white and grip the furniture to steady themselves.

If she smells like a rose it's because the Doctor made her smell like a rose when he was fixing her up all human like. I think she would be a little irritated if she realized what she smelled like and what it conveyed.

We should have 7 of 9 action figures that smell like strawberries.

I love these lines below (as well as the scene about Harry's alleged stink).

EMH/SEVEN: I had no idea that eating was such a... sensual experience! The tastes, the textures, feeling it slide down Seven's esophagus, it's... it's exquisite!
HARRY KIM: They're prison rations! My uniform probably tastes better.

Which begs the question... does the EMH really know what a rose smells like?

I love Seven's ability to go from vulnerability to bitchy, from self sacificingly heroic to surprised wonder in the space of a single ep.

    My fav lines are these...

SEVEN: I am Annika Hansen. Human.
QUEEN: I remember Annika. Does she remember us? She wasn't afraid, why are you?
SEVEN: You attacked us. You murdered my family.
QUEEN: We did no such thing. We gave them perfection.
    SEVEN: Papa?
QUEEN: Your family's here. You're here. Be one with us again.
JANEWAY [OC]: Seven of Nine, we're searching for you. Try to hang on.
    SEVEN: Captain?

I always want to yell at the TV at this point... ake THAT you Queen Bitch. I'll see your one comatose Papa and raise you one VERY ALIVE FOSTER MAMA!

You know I adore 7 but I have always cringed at the line, "Papa?"

    It was just too much.

    Magnus was a dick.

I can see him using Anika as a human shield when the Borg came for his eyes.

I was a little mad the first time watching that episode that they didn't try to sever Seven's parents from the collective. But I suppose that would have been nearly impossible.

But I wonder.. would they have tried if they had a clear and easy way to grab Magnus and sever/transport him? I get the impression they would have just left him there.

Once the Queen had some drone out in the depot fedex their zombie asses to her bedside to become her new yeomen?

    Sure.

But the two years before Dark Frontier or the two years after Dark Frontier?

So what if they couldn't get the Flesh, why didn't Seven just take copies of their personalities from the collective gestalt?

We have to assume that digital copies of minds go in and out of drones all the time to see about business of the collective, and when a digital copy makes contact with a flesh mind they update each other on their personal adventures... So that any real mind etched into the meat of a living brain is full of so many digital experiences that it is just as fake as a digital impression of a mind wandering about in a server farm.

Seven said herself that early versions of herself still live on inside the Collective and work towards the Borg ideals of achieving universal perfection... Of course unless she was firewalled by the Queen, Seven who played out the Voyager experience, then after during Dark Frontier would have updated all earlier models with a lust for individuality to varying degrees of success.

Well, I think if Janeway had known that Seven's parents were right there and that there was a possibility of severing them, then she would have attempted to try. But Seven herself was clearly angry that her parents caused her to be assimilated (I mean...they did bring her on a ship and set out to study the Borg with a child on board. I would have been pissed if my parents put me in danger like that too). I think Janeway would have wanted to sever her father (not sure if her mother was there or still alive?) and re-humanize him and bring the family back together and all that, and I think a part of Seven would have wanted to sever him also...but I'm sure a part of her believed they deserved what they got.

I don't think 7 can just access anyone she's got downloaded into her mind from her time with the Borg. For one thing the memories are jumbled and fading now that she has to store them all herself.. and it seems that flashbacks just happen to her without her having control. Now maybe she could via some Vulcan meditation technique access her parent's experience as Borg. But their experience is a white noise of a billion other voices just like hers.

Severed and rehumanized far away from 7 would be for the best. Let him figure out how to live with the last 18 years before he has to figure out how to live with what his cowboy science phase did to his daughter.

First of all: Infinite Regress. All of it. There are thousands of complete personalities being stored inside Seven who she personally assimilated who she doesn't have any conscious communication with under normal circumstances, but they're still there ENSLAVED and tied up to the back of her mind.

(Tuvix times thousands. Janeway is a pussy.)

    Second
    And third...

Maybe I wouldn't remember so much if the Star Fleet uniforms were tighter?

    Stupid Pulaski.

But she still can't easily choose to "take copies of their personalities from the collective gestalt" which is what I was replying to.

Mentally almost telepathically, under normal circumstances, on the fly, I agree with you.

But in the moment during Dark Frontier, she has ROYAL privileges and actual physical interfaces to the collective... BUTTONS, graphs and shit.

Cut and fricking paste, no different from how they moved the Doctor around or flung to the other side of the galaxy because the Federation LCARS are designed specifically to manage the ships data.

Well then she obviously doesn't care to have reunion time with Papa.
