Maybe we can all support each other from avoiding that thread for the next month.

I'll support you. But you sure you don't want just one more harmless little spoiler? They're sweet and delicious.

I'm strong. I'm "Captain Robau" strong.

There's no way in hell I'm going in the spoiler thread. Especially now that all the reviews say it's a good movie.

We definetely need a support group. Gee, it's a full month! I try to keep myself busy with Firefly, the Doctor Who Easter special and The Sarah Jane Smith Adventures, but it's gonna be tough.

Another question for those who have seen it :

There was a lot of talk about Kirk going from "Cadet to Captain in a week"

Was this handled well and in a believable way ?

    Another question pleeeeease.

We've seen the visual effects breathe new life into the spacebattles from the trailers. Is the rest of the movie as good with plenty more jaw dropping effects? Do we get a lot more things like the upside down cam or 'torpedo' cam? The latter was stunningly nice.

Yes, considering the circumstances and the stakes, I felt it was handled with some finesse. In the spoiler thread, I'll post a brief aside that I think is borderline for this thread.

yes. the best effects shots do not occur during battles, a refreshing change.

urbandk, or any other user who has seen it, we've been told that this movie features references to all the other shows. Is this true? I'm especially curious about any ENT references they might have thrown in.

I only recalled an ENT reference, none to the other series. Was hoping for a TNG reference but didn't notice any. :-/
