Sad to report that Richard Matheson has died at 81 years of age. Trekkies know him for writing 'The Enemy Within'. He was famous and loved in Sci-Fi circles as a novelist and screenwriter working on The Twilight Zone, etc. He also wrote the novel I Am Legend. http://variety.com/2013/film/news/r...d-twilight-zone-author-dies-at-87-1200501399/
And The Incredible Shrinking Man, and Somewhere in Time, and The Night Stalker, and "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet," and Duel, and What Dreams May Come, and A Stir of Echoes, and Hell House, and . . . .
And Trilogy of Terror, so much Sci Fi and pure fun on TV was from the mind of that man. So long, sir!
Heck, one of his stories, "The Splendid Source," was even turned into an episode of Family Guy. Really. If you have any interest in science fiction, fantasy, or horror, you have been exposed to his work, even if you've never read any of his books or stories.
