So it's zombie Trip in the shower instead of zombie T'pol? :p

Naw, it's an allusion to one of Dallas' season openers, which nullified the entire previous season.

Oh, obviously I haven't seen that show then. Wouldn't say all of season 4 deserves hand waving away. Just that one episode. :p

It doesn't need to be hand waved, it needs to be nuked from orbit.

I once suggested an actor commentary on a Night in Sickbay featuring Porthos peeing on the script. TATV deserves similar treatment. ;)

Porthos could squeeze out a giant t*rd on that one.

Rather than ending with it being a holoprogram Troi and Riker are participating in it should have ended this way:

Trip is stuffing his face with popcorn during movie night while pressing his thigh against T'Pol's who is sitting next to him. He begins to choke with laughter at the screen.

T'Pol: Those people look very unhealthy. Who are they supposed to be?

Trip: That's what's so hilarious! This old science fiction has the most ridiculous characters!

On the movie screen Riker and Troi exit the holodeck doors

Trip chokes to death on popcorn because T'Pol's unfamiliar with the Heimlich maneuver.

Not from where I'm standing. Sue me.

I'm sorry for your loss, and very happy for your mother. I wish her continued good health.

They're better men than I, Gunga Din. Don't mess with me about this, please.

It's even worse if you're not even trying to be funny! "You're full of shit" is less offensive merely because it does not carry the same baggage--it's simply a common vulgarity. But if you can't resist the urge to hurl an insult, I'd actually recommend something more creative. Without shrapnel that may hit innocent bystanders.

I see no "degrees" regarding this brand of insult. All bad. But then again, where is the "good" in an insult?

But it happens. The better course, IMHO, is to bypass that whole insult mentality and try something more constructive. But that's just me.

AT least go back to insulting TATV. It's not even real. And it's on topic.

I was around for the original spoilers, where folks were calling for Sirtis and Frakes's heads for even participating in the finale. The original grading thread was E P I C wank, which was saying a lot, even at the height of the shipper war nonsense.

    Ah, good times. :guffaw:

Insult humor should not be in the hands of amateurs. Don Rickles could usually pull it off, but he still probably got punched in the face a lot in the early days.

So do you as a moderator on this Enterprise forum disavow TATV's canonicity?

That's the sort of question a journalist would throw at a politician.

    Can't afford to. :sigh:

Thank you very much. Mom is ok, though her health is not exactly perfect. She's still around and going strong at 63. Gotta be grateful for that.

Noted. Don't get me wrong, I really am sorry if my post hurt your feelings.

Sometimes a guy gets the urge to say something ugly. Sometimes he goes out of line. I'd know. Honestly, I should have considered the chance that among hundreds of people who follow this board there are bound to be some who lost (or are losing) their loved ones to the terrible disease that is Alzheimer's.

Dammit lady, I'm an engineer, not a writer! :D
    (like yourself)

Srsly, I tried that once. Writer's block kicked in before the first chapter was finished.

Never underestimate the power of catharsis. The trick is not to seek it in all the wrong places (DS9 reference intended :D)

Congrats, this makes you the second person to have made my day today. :)

Thanks for the elaborate response. Much appreciated.

Well, it was broadcast. *sigh* But I still say Barclay got roaring drunk and messed with the holodeck controls.

    I appreciate that. We're cool.

    :)

    Any time.

Now who's up for throwing more rocks at that pitiable waste of an hour? Or, for you brave souls, complimenting it? (Man, that was hard to type.)

I'll give it a go. I liked T'Pol's hair. And Archer's dress uniform. And...

    ...nope, that's about it.

Those name tags on the uniforms were a nice touch... uh... about all I have.

I once devoted myself to PVP for enormous blocks of hours in WoW because I was so incredibly pissed off about something IRL and smashing ugly puny humans with my muthafucking axe was suddenly the greatest venting ever.

Sometimes the TATV threads serve a similar purpose.

The peeling of the carrots was performed competently.

I distinctly remember Riker saying "they're not peeled". I always assumed he was talking about carrots, but...

Porthos gave a very natural performance.
