February Art Challenge - Klaus

I'm going to stake this one out now before someone else does... I will be re-imagining Stratos City from TOS.

Here's the first take:

Interesting. If I make one suggestion... one of the coolest elements of Stratos (to my taste anyhow) was its asymmetry. Maybe you could play around with some different shapes to make the whole seem a bit less unified?

I had thoughts along those lines too, I'm going to try that...

Very cool. I also like the asymmetric style. It gives it a more "progressively-built" feel. Nicely done. And I'm soooooooo glad you didn't pick the same city I did. I would have crumpled up the virtual paper. lol

Love the asymmetry. might be interesting if this was the 24th century version of the city, 100 years after the Trogs were freed, and some remnant of the original was at the core, totally dwarfed by the new.

Is it just me or does it have a "molecule chain" feel to it?

Not so much the hexagons but the way the parts connect - large structures surrounded by smaller ones with lines connecting them.

Re: February Art Challenge - Klaus

OK nearly done... I finished the outer buildings, each "neighborhood" has a different style, and I also replaced the greebly central hubs with geodesic domes as the others were too busy and didn't match the cleaner lines I think Stratos should have.
