McCoy would know, he would have helped, but If Xavier wasn't running a sperm Donors Clinic out the back, then they would have been flooding the market with mutant sperm until they actually had a chance of making it out from under the heel of humanities boot.

I can see Xavier telepathically programming all the mutants in the world to donate, I can see a Clinic that has nothing but a uniform reserve of pure Xavier, and I can see many White Ops teams breaking into existing sperm clinics to swap out human sperm with mutant sperm.

    Survival of the sneakiest.

I agree with Allyn's assessment of Uncanny. It started out okay, and IMO we've had one good issue out of this, but Bendis's mis-characterization has ruined this for me. At least we know time being broke seems to be a reason for the originals unable to be returned. I'll be dropping both Bendis books again permanently after this.

I haven't noticed, is Battle of Atom crossing through all of the X-Books or just Uncanny and All-New?

It's all the X-Books. That's one of the main reasons I started collection all the issues for 'Battle of the Atom' because I was collecting Wood's "X-Men" and didn't want to be left out of the main storyline.

Despite Bendis' recent Uncanny X-Men (and yes, it was quite a mess), this is one title that I will be keeping after "Battle of the Atom" is over. I've heard some bad things about it, but Magik is one of my favorite characters, so I'll be staying with it for as long as it entertains me.

Good to know, thanks. I've already started W&XM, and I was planning on reading at least Wood's X-Men, and I was just curious if I did stick to just those two if I'd run into BotA.

Wood's X-Men is a pretty strong title, but I'm a bit biased, since it inolves all of my favorite X-women: Kitty, Rogue, Psylocke and Jubilee :D

The pilot was okay, but then I was forced to read the rest I was ignoring when I felt compelled to get up to speed before I could read the Battle of the Atom cross overs.

Soooooooooooooo much focus on looking after the baby.

Fearless Defenders #12 to mark the last issue of the title.
As a reader of this book it's a bit of sad news but not unexpected either. Marvel propped it up for two issues more than Journey into Mystery w/Sif and Red She-Hulk.

When Marvel announced Elektra, She-Hulk(Walters) and Black Widow I seriously wondered what that meant for this already struggling book. Not really surprised unfortunately. So now the watch is on for which of the above 3 are going to be gone by issue #10 as Marvel fandom is horrid at supporting female led books...even Captain Marvel but editorial is determined to push her till she works so she'll get past issue #10 which is why I don't count her.

I like the characters, but the art turned me off.

    Didn't get past issue one.

Since the 90s, every Defenders ongoing title has been cancelled by issue #12. This is pretty much a dull surprise.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

The young X-Men brought forward in Time.

3 of them grew up to be (New) Defenders at one point.

That could be a different albeit familiar star to witch their wagon to rather than growing up to be X-Men again?

    Gargoyle could mentor them?

How do they make a Defenders series that doesn't suck?

If Avengers can sell 6 books, it can't be that difficult?

I found the revelation that if you left Betty Banner together with the Silver Surfer long enough, that they would hook up to be charming. :)

I just caught up on my backlog of Hawkeye.

There's an issue almost completely written in Dog.

i too didn't like the art of Fearless Defenders. the covers though, those were great. i was reading it for Valkyrie.

how do you make a Defenders title last and not suck? get a good writer and use characters from the original team. Hulk, Dr Strange, Namor, Silver Surfer. throw in Valkyrie, Gargoyle and maybe Hellcat just for fun.

Most people consider Kurt Busiek and Matt Fraction to be good writers and neither of them could make the book profitable.

I saw this the other day and was sad. Loved Fearless Defenders, and yeah the art bothered me too. It could be inconsistent at times.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

    It's just a bad name.

    We understand the history.

    Strange, Namor and Hulk.

Three dickheads that could never make it in the Avengers.

I really liked the idea of how the Hulk was like a down and out seedy friend who never really accomplished anything, who would crash on Stephen's couch for months at a time, and drink all his beer, just like that friend from college "you" had before the wife got rid of him.

    Um.

Remind me how Namor fits into this dynamic?

    (Trinamic?)

Is Namor the rich kid that pays for stuff?

So Strange is Archie, Hulk is Jughead and Namor is Reggie?

(Reggie isn't as Rich as Veronica, but lets not over complicate this.)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I think the real point to publishing a Defenders book now is to protect the trademark. Marvel trots it out every few years so that it doesn't expire. Same with Invaders. If the book is a success, great. If not, well, that wasn't the point of the exercise in the first place. :)
