I'm not sure what you are so happy about? Borg Drones break down over time. Less than a day. This is not a discovery. It's continually stated most weeks. A few days without regeneration and a Borg Drone will be a nonfunctional mess. A fully functioning Drone cut off from the collective can assimilate more drones, seize local technology, and build an alcove in a less than a small number of hours, so they don't have to worry about ever unregenerating to death or losing faith in the Collectives collective agenda. Seven of Nine is not a fully functioning Drone, she is an embarrassing weak noncommittal husk, who is Lucky that those Alcoves where built by the colony of Drones on Voyager before Chakotay flushed them.
I came up with the idea of a liberated borg valley girl bimbo a while back. I'll spare you a youtube link because that kind of stuff tends to get flagged as off-topic/spamming but I thought it was a pretty hilarious idea. The thing is, the borg don't sit you down to screen your personality before they assimilate you. So if you were an airhead before you were assimilated, odds are you'll still have vestiges of airhead-ness post-assimilation. So someone like that would have dialogue such as "Like, you know, that is totally, irrelevant."
I'm a little confused by your intro; I never said anything about Borg breakdown time outside the Collective, just about implant systems. I agree in large part with all of you've written above; I wasn't suggesting anything to the contrary to all you've listed, simply that there is a need for a probably reasonably extensive implant system to process the regen energy (whatever it is) and whatever other more sophisticated tunings of a drone's body are performed by the alcove, which was the OP's original question. Don't think we have any disagreement here. Domage.
Are Borg regen alcoves only for the non-biological implants? I never heard that, and it wouldn't seem likely given infiltration by the nanoprobes.
this thread should so be at the top of the forum instead of the hate thread so, post! Shmuel and T'Lanna forever !
Next on Star Trek: Voyager, 'B'Luvix'. B'Lanna and Neelix are victims of a transporter accident which turns them into the second coming of Basil Fawlty.
Janeway spends all her time in the ready room, listening to reports over the com system, occasionally saying "Oh, I knowwww."
Me too, I think you could find any better set of breasts anywhere or at the very least she is in top 10.
"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. It would be a pity to damage yours."? (Princess Bride.) Breasts are a trick. They are so mollifying that men don't notice what's actually wrong with the woman who owns them until it's far too late. And that's sight unseen. We have to ignore a woman's face, body and personality while trying to assess nipple type through sometimes three layers of clothing... [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhecjCaLE1U[/yt] Woman ain't innocent. While we're doing that, they're trying to figure out what sort of car we drive.
