His review made it sound as if it will be great yet he also sounded less enthusiastic about it. Strange.

The thing I got out of Trekker's review is that I would seem to be correct in that it's structure seems to be very close to "Batman Begins". The other thing is that he seems to have enjoyed parts of the film, but not everything and yet it was better than "Sueprman: Returns".

If that means Liam Neeson is playing the real Zod, I'm psyched.

I grade on an odd curve, it's probably more a straight-B movie but that felt too low. Yeah it is almost a BB feel. I really liked it, more on reflection, and I'll see it again on release but its not quite the Superman movie I would have liked. Still, better than SR more action and look than the Donner film(s) but still lacking "something." I'll stick around for the rest of today to answer any questions/concerns. (Spoiler Coded, of course.)

Actually the Batman Begins comparison I kind of understand. That was a really well-made, great looking movie with a lot of great scenes... that I still somehow had a hard time really loving.

Kinda sounds like you're the same way with this movie.

The color palette for this film seems a bit muted and grey for a superman film. Almost a bit rough, as if unfinished...

I saw that Zod clip on Jay Leno last night. Next week can't get here soon enough.

Yeah I have to admit, that's the one thing about the visuals I'm not crazy about. They could have easily made the film look gritty and realistic without also being gray and murky.

But to be fair, a lot of superhero and scifi movies nowadays sort of have that same look, so it's not a new thing. And hopefully after a few minutes I won't really notice it as much.

I like the colors in this movie...they seem natural and not over the top.

Yeah, I like it more on reflection but it just lacked... "something" there's also some Status Quo/mythology changes I'm not so sure about. Anyway, I can't wait to see it again on release. Maybe a second viewing in better seats will change my opinions on it. There's not much about the movie I didn't like (hence the high grade) there's just also not much about it I was gaga-over that made me go "That's Superman!" hence the apathetic review. I will say that Clark wearing a Royals t-shirt in one of the scenes got a great reaction from this audience, as did the "I'm from Kansas, sir." Both of those really made me smile. :)

For once when Perry White says "Great Ceasar's ghost", I wish Ceasar's ghost would actually show up and do battle.

    "Whaddya know, it finally worked!"

Fishburne seems more like an Elvis guy to me.
