That's all well and good, and while it's nice to learn it, you'll hardly ever if ever, really, use it.
I'll probably go back at some point and try to relearn Spanish. I'd love to be fluent. I still sometimes think in Spanish, which is kind of weird, considering it's been 5 years since I last took a class.
Spanish and Italian aren't that different. I know both, er, well I used too. French, while not all that different, isn't as close as Spanish and Italian are.
Funny on 2 counts: 1) That website is funny, and Ninjas are awesome 2) Back when I had roommates, whenever I would leave for gym, my best friend would slap me on the ass and yell, "Get pumped!" on my way out the door.
Just catching up on the last few days. Y'know, condensing several nights of this thread into a twenty minute reading period is a very odd experience. It's kind of what I'd imagine acid to be like. Except with more poop, baseball, and shoegaze. Anyway, spanish, huh? I know nothing of nothing of spanish. What with still trying to learn french, and trying a little german, spanish is little removed from me. No, we're not! Don't grow a chinstrap. I wouldn't know. My vision is so perfect that I see the world in a higher degree of clarity than, like, almost everybody. Which, in and of itself is an interesting epistemological thing to think about. Not sure what genre of music you could compare it to, though. 8bit IDM? There's the joke that it's called shoegaze because people who go to shoegaze shows dance by apathetically bobbing from side to side and staring at their shoes. But yeah, Shoegaze is really quite lovely. As far as I know, the primary progenitor of shoegaze is My Bloody Valentine. Hmm, I think I'll listen to Loveless now. Oh, and just who the hell would that be?
I forgot you were from Quebec. I can only speak franglais at best. But that's because half my family is from there.
As a French who knows both, I really place Italian halfway between Spanish and French. Evening, all! Good French, guys.
I'm actually originally from southern Ontario so my french probably isn't any better than yours. Oh, et un autre groupe de shoegaze qui est trés bon est 'The Radio Dept'.
I said that I'm good but tired, and I'm listening to shoegaze music. And she said you're very strange. Hasu, I grew up in a small town between Sarnia and London. And no, there's absolutely no way you know of it. (Alvinston)
Others I'd recommend are Lush (well, before they abandoned all pretense of shoegaze and became pure bubblegum Britpop) and Mira.
It sounds somewhat familiar but not really. I had a friend grow up in a place called "Emo" which is up near fort francis. And i dont supposed you heard of a place called Wahnipitae?
