Ah, that is true. Plus, they also have a lot of non-IDW Star Trek comica, such as the Golden Key collection (which I adore, even if it feels very "off").

Do they also have a sale going?

Issue #39, "The Q Gambit, Part 5", is out today electronically. Funny how IDW claimed months ago that issue #40, would be a "December release". Whatever is the reason for the recent delays in issues?

Comic books often get delayed when the artists fall behind schedule. It used to be that comics companies kept a number of "inventory issues" in stock, standalone fill-in tales that could be published in the event of a delay, but with everything being miniseries and arcs these days, that doesn't happen much anymore.

I remember when DC restarted the TOS and TNG series in 1989. The TNG book, which was my favorite of the two at the time, was always running late, from issue 2 till about issue 9 or 10.

Actually, Comixology only has IDW Trek. All of the pre-IDW comics they have are the ones that were rereleased by IDW.

Just got it. Not bad, but it was a quick read. I probably should've trade-waited on this one..

Anybody else really liked the art of the last story arc. Q should had been more expressive with his face, but the art really clicked with the story and the DS 9 feel.

You know, there've been rumors going around lately that Disney might be looking into buying up IDW. I wonder how that'd impact IDW's Trek comics if it went through? Would CBS even let them renew the license the next time it comes up for renewal?

IDW is going to be publishing Disney comics in the near future -- even with the capabilities and resources of Marvel at their disposal -- probably because IDW offered Disney a profitable return with low investment for the Mouse.

CBS should be inclined to renew their contract with IDW, so long as the licensing arrangement is favorable to CBS and IDW delivers a quality product, regardless of who owns IDW. Neither Disney or CBS would let petty distinctions of corporate ownership trump bottom-line profits on their intellectual properties.

I don't see why not. Warner Bros. owned DC while they had the Trek license, and Paramount didn't have a problem with that.

I guess I was thinking of the Marvel Studios/Fox situation, but yeah, that's different entirely. Maybe if CBS was buying its own comic publisher, but yeah, situation doesn't really apply here.

Couldn't find anything about this, so I will ask. How is, or what do you guys think of IDW's Star Trek Planet of the Apes? Worth getting? Looks cool.

    Thanks....

Disney look into buying everything! They also wanted Time-Warner a while back.
