You thought the Marines in "Aliens" were overbearing?

 

I thought that the point was that they were incompetent: all bluster, no experience or skill. Their ninety-day wonder had simulator runs under his belt - but they themselves had apparently only done milk run missions so far. Gung-ho with lots of ho and little in the way of gung.

We've yet to see Trek characters like that. Which is a bit of a shame, really.

I am thankful they did not, yet.
But I would not put it past Jar Jar to do so in a future film.

And yes, CRA, I found the marines in Aliens to be very overbearing. Only Mr. Hicks did I like, since he did not seem to have that annoying macho, jackass mentality that the others had.

Just noticed for the first time yesterday....after the landing party first beams down to Talos IV....Nimoy is limping.

 

Actually, the scene was correct according to U.S. Navy protocol. From Wikipedia (which squares with my experience aboard ship):

Yeah I noticed this for years it was to do of pike,s last mission and some of the away team was injured including Spock I think another had a hand injury and one crew member with a neck injury accured on that mission .??

 

Yeoman Colt's jacket sleeves are different from everyone else's. Most jacket sleeves have the gold officer/CPO band; some have a wide blue-gray band (see here). Hers have neither (see here).
