yes that mission is buggy enough that I will have to do it over again to get credit for it.

Let's just hope that Bajor's planetary defenses are better than Betazed's was during the war.

Um, there were 3 other starships there besides yourself and the Defiant (which launched) - you had to assist them while escorting the shuttles to safety.

As for Bajor - even in the Dominion War episodes on the DS9 series - the Dominion wasn't interested in Bajor - their Cardassian allies were. The Dominion forces simply wanted total control of the Wormhole (and Ds9 was just a good staging area next to it, so why not take and keep it?)

So, as far as this story goes, I have no issues with the fact that the Dominion forces (who are probably still disoriented and don't realize they're 30+ years in the future); are primarily concerned with holding DS9; and after see a Fed Fleet regrouping/massing around Bajor - want to solidify their control of the Wormhole and the station first.

But we'll see what happens over the next month. :)

I don't see how the Dominions stormed DS9. I think I shot down every boarding shuttle in sight. Of course it's part of the plot so it was going to happen regardless of what we did. :-)

Played 2 space STF's last night, and in the KA space normal STF I picked up my first gold lock box. It was myself in an Exploration Cruiser refit, fellow TrekBBS fleetmate Sean in a Prometheus, and 3 others who were all flying Odessy's (their DPS stunk). It seemed like a grind at Normal to get through it, but we did and I was pleased to get a gold lock box as a drop during the mission (Most everyone selected Need, one person passed). I was hoping for the Galor, but instead got the Team Consumables. Maybe next time. Have the gold lock boxes been found outside of the STF's or are the restricted to them?

The transported in as seen in the attack on the station cutscene, and the cutscene where they killed Andrews.

Funny that 30 year old transporters were able to breach new-tech shields of an active space station in wartime, i guess :) Given the time displacement issue, Starfleet should have been able to smash this fleet up pretty good. Given the numbers, might still wear them down, but they would have paid heavily...

Last night when I logged in, I received an accolade for reaching 700 days, and that was it. Wasn't there supposed to be an Android BOFF? I know they are having some issues with it - does that mean they pulled the BOFF out until it's fixed? I am a Gold subscriber, so I should be entitled to the veteran rewards.

I don't wanna tell Kirkland how to run his station, but presumably 2800 enemy ships coming out of the wormhole should at least dictate a Yellow Alert, if not Red. And the station is on a front line in wartime, should be pretty sensitive to that.

Even if they were down beforehand, and seeing the ships didn't trigger an immediate alert, should be able to get them up before the ships got into transporter range. Even if a few soldiers got beamed onboard before the shields got up, again it's a military outpost in wartime, can't come up with a few security officers to repell the boarders? Gotta abandon the station instead? Bear in mind that the enemy ships are 30 years out of date (and in wartime, tech usually moves forward pretty fast), and your own troops have personal shields, which the enemy shouldn't.

in-story, things went wrong because the plot needed them to, just pointing out that it seems a little silly. Especially since these are time-displaced troops, and the war is over. Shouldn't take much more than a call to the Founders, pointing out that we found their dog on our lawn, please come pick it up...

Not to mention that the Dominion was a great deal more advanced than the Federation during the war. If anything all the Feds have done is catch up. But then it doesn't matter. He is incapable of anything but complaining.

Nice to see that a discussion is now being called complaining whenever someone doesn't agree. Even said I understand why it was shown that way, just seemed silly (i know, hard-hitting complaint, right?) when considered in the light of everything else. I mean, the Borg are shown as way more advanced than the Dominion or the Federation, but we've apparently advanced enough that swatting cubes isn't a huge problem anymore. Seems like we've upgraded in the past 30 years ;) I don't believe (may be mistaken, I honestly forget) the Dominion could beam through Federation shields 30 years ago, so not sure why they'd have developed that tech while stuck in the nothingness of the wormhole.

If nitpicking on-screen Trek minutia is somehow offensive to you, I think you're on the wrong website

Since both your last two posts in this thread have been basically just to bitch about ME, though, may I suggest you either get over it or use the Ignore feature? I'd hate to think I'm bothering you :)

It will be interesting to see where they take the story. I hope it goes in a intelligent direction.

The Jem'Hadar fleet is expecting a war with the Alpha Quadrant and Cardassian allies near by. Once they realize this isn't going to happen (aside from the True Way faction) what do thy do now?

Like Scout said the war was 30 years ago they should figure that out rather quickly.

And doesn't the Federation have the female Founder is custody? That alone is enough to stop any further attack. We have their god as a hostage.

As it stands there are a lot of quick ends to this story line.

The description for episode four doesn't leave much margin for speculation, which is why I'm sure we're gonna pay her a visit there.

I had to do a little digging to jog my memory and managed to find this:
    [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4EkG-Miv00[/yt]

Kira called for a yellow alert and the station environment does not change. There is no alert sound, no visible change in lighting. Remember, this was a Cardassian station, not a Federation starship. Because there is no visible or audible alert, we have no idea if someone has already called for yellow or red alert off screen.

The same video shows a Jem'Hadar easily walking through a level 3 force field, transporting through shields and if my memory is correct, there is also an example of the Dominion being able to transport over extremely long distances. Even in the video above, the Dominion can beam directly to ops all the way from the mouth of the wormhole. Kira barely blurted out yellow alert, raise shields and the Jem'Hadar soldier have already beamed on board. Presumably, the 2800 would use a similar tactic to beam shock troops onto the station the instant they came out of the wormhole.

On a related note, watching the video reminded me it is a really bad idea give the name of Odyssey to the newest and most advanced class of starships the Federation has to offer. USS Odyssey was the Galaxy class that was blown up by the Jem'Hadar. Now I know why why so many newbies have their Odyssey blown to bits by the Borg in STFs.

The Dominion used transponders which enabled them to transport people or objects distances measuring up to around three light years. Not sure they'd be able to actually beam onto the station from that distance, but they could definitely pull someone or thing off DS9 for sure at that distance.
