Just started "The Undiscovered Country", from J. M. Dillard, the novelization of the movie.

It’s funny, after reading that STD novel, I came away thinking that we needed more Pike stories which I know isn’t what you’re supposed to get from it.

Overall, I was very much impressed with Burning Dreams. Of course, nothing less than greatness is expected of Mr. Cox

Exactly. I appreciate the vote of confidence, but, yes, Margaret wrote Burning Dreams. My Pike novel was Child of Two Worlds.

I'm up to the 10th of the 15 Dresden Files, and it's one of my absolute favorite series.
I'm not really sure how I'd compare it to Angel, I haven't watched it in a while. I'd need to experience both closer to really be able to judge. I think if you're a fan of Angel you'd probably like Dresden Files, if that's what you're wondering about.
Honestly, the one thing that most brought Dresden Files to mind for me was The Last Witchhunter.

I remember the first thought I had after watching it was that the people who made it should do a Dresden Files adaptation.

After an incident with a fried power strip my tablet is taking forever to charge, so I've decided to throw a paperback into the mix to give it time to finish while I'm at work. I decided to go with No Limits, the ST: New Frontier short story anthology. Back when this first came out I read a handful of the stories in it and never went back, this time I plan to read it cover to cover. This is also probably going to be the start of a read through of a whole bunch of Star Trek anthologies I own but haven't read all the way through.

Just finished Ceremony of Losses, by David Mack. Wow. I hate relaunch Andorians -- so whiny! -- but I went through Ceremony in practically one sitting. Great drama, nice doses of humor, and an ending that makes a person believe in Star Trek again. Heckuva way to start 2018! :D

Didn't finish Dickens's Christmas Books, but what the hell, read that stuff before on multiple Decembers, and it's more of a ritual for me to start a new book on January 1st, so... Michael Connelly's latest, Two Kinds Of Truth it is...

I finished reading Star Discovery Desperate Hours by David Mack. I really liked Captain Georgiou had more common sense about the emergency crisis situation than Captain Pike did in the book.

You're thinking of DS9: Warped. TNG: Warped is "An Engaging Guide to the Never-Aired 8th Season".

Based on sonebody's twitter feed, it's supposed to be funny. It didn't work for me.

I finished up the first story in STNF: No Limits, Loose Ends by @Dayton Ward either yesterday or Thursday. I enjoyed the story a lot, it was fun seeing Calhoun during his Starfleet Intelligence days and I liked the way it followed up on TNG: The Pegasus.
