Since none of the movies were good (from what I hear), can we count Punisher? Not only were they failed reboots/remakes, but the original movie was a failure as well!
Though the American Lister might not have been bad if the script was much, much better. Any Brits see the Minder remake? Bad writing + Bad casting = even my mum turning it off. And she watches Coronation Street.
^ You could also include the last few seasons of the original Minder, in which Terry/ Dennis Waterman was replaced by Arthur's nephew, whose name I can't even remember (character or actor). The Arthur of the original series, who could be a bit of a bastard to Terry, suddenly morphed into this lovable cuddly family man. I think they were trying to turn it into Only Fools and Horses, which was always an inferior series, IMHO.
Enterprise is the only Trek show I ever gave up on. Why? Because it was mind-numbingly dull. Canceled = failed
Same here. I watched all of season one and gave up halfway through season two. I still haven't seen all of seasons two or three but caught season four on DVD due to good word-of-mouth and enjoyed it a great deal.
Thankfully thats either been wiped clean from my memory or I just never saw it. Doesn't sound like the wisest format change in the world. How many have there been? I remember flipping past some unfamiliar stuff on kids TV that looked dull and cheap - as if it would survive on charm, but someone forgot to add the charm part... I don't know if many of you have seen Oldboy, but the Hollywood remake rumours have been making me cringe. It's just not a film Hollywood can pull off and would be only vaguely better than the version Bollywood produced.
According to IMDB there have been 2. The Addams family in 1992 (no doubt due to the movie which came out the year before) and The New Addams family in 1998.
The 1992 show was animated, though. There was also an animated series in 1973. The New Addams Family is the only live action TV remake. It aired on Fox Kids, with 65 episodes being produced.
^^ I wasn't even aware of that. However, it reminds me that there was a Munsters TV revival, with John Schuck, as Herman at one point-- I don't even remember if it was the 80s or 90s. I think we can consider that a failed remake/reboot as well.
Yeah, in 2002. It was included in volume two of the DVD release. In fact, right before Ron Moore castrated Starbuck, The Time Tunnel producers did the same for Tony Nelson, making her Antonia "Toni" Nelson.
