Dapper! I love the jacket, classic without being dull. Another day, another opportunity to wear fabulous clothes. The shirt is another thrift store find, god I love Value Village. It's one of my favorites, very 80s with great detailing. It's hard to tell, but the collar is navy. On the back it also has great detailing: a diagonal navy dart from the hem to the shoulder. loose-fitting black trousers, the no-nonsense platforms from yesterday, a grey and black striped bow, and fab sunglasses. A sapphire ring to match the navy in the shirt, along with the pearl and pink crystal rings I usually wear: Closer detail on the shirt...too bad it's blurry, it was almost a decent selfie!
^You realize, of course, that every straight male on the board, who wasn't already in love with you, just fell in love with you now.
^Then they should know that I'm way too argumentative and high maintenance to fit the Manic Pixie Dream Girl stereotype.
Today's version of my uniform: jeans, black elliptical tee, black bag. This time with black MBT sandals and leopard print socks, simple silver/pearl earrings, and a beaded necklace (shades of purple and white) made by a Hopi artist. What a fashion magazine would call a statement necklace, for sure. Just for the record, no, I do not normally wear socks with sandals. Only when I feel like showing off a really cool pair of socks.
I'm lounging around after work, so I'm wearing a baggy old longline sweater and grey leggings. I never wear leggings outside the house unless the top I'm wearing is pretty much dress-length, otherwise I bear a striking resemblance to Jabba the Hutt. I have to wear black or grey trousers/skirts/dresses at work, and the tops have to be black, white, cream or very pale blue, pink or peach. I wish I could add more colour to my work clothes, but at least we don't have uniforms.
^I don't know if I could survive such a restrictive dress code! I love you so much for wearing sandals with leopard print socks.
Today I'm wearing a variation of my "uniform" for days that I go to Planet Fitness: this shirred-back tunic in solid black over polkadot leggings (black dots on gray). Black and lime green athletic shoes at the gym; black MBT sandals the rest of the day. Silver earrings. The usual black bag. Black/gray/purple PF backpack. I love the tunic. Am thinking of buying the striped version in either charcoal or blue.
I most definitively don't. More like Captain Bertorelli. Thanks! It was love at first sight: I needed a light-coloured jacked in my wardrobe, and it definitively hit the spot. And to tell you a horrible secret about that jacket... I had my sleeves rolled back under it. Not something I should do, but this September is has been hotter than August, so I allowed myself a bit of leeway. Love the collar. Just the right amount of asymmetrical, but no more. Yesterday I had another shindig to attend, so it was the beige jacket again, off-white trousers, white-and-brown bi-colour shoes, burgundy shirt, no tie. (I'm totally a maverick! ...or not. ) Today I had just an informal seminar (and it was hot as hell), so it was yellow RL polo shirt, stonewashed blue jeans, and blue sneaker.
