I have two mice named T'Vet and T'Mol-Kom, which in Vulcan translate literally to "of doubt" and "of serenity". Their names match their personalities perfectly! Anybody else have pets with Star Trek names?
That fellow in Trekkies 1 and 2 had a cat named Bones. Me, I once named a dog after a Sesame Street character.
I couldn't keep Eric any longer after thinking hard about it, so I gave him to a wildlife educator and reptile rehab guy. Although, I don't want to give him up, he seems a lot happier with his new owner. Shot at 2011-05-13
cool iguana Just curious- What kind of attention and/or accommodations do they require? All I've seen them do is just sit there...
My cat is named Ezri. But I gave her to my mom recently. My mom doesn't get around very well and she spends much of her day in a wheelchair. My parents have a cat, but she's not very friendly and definately not a lap cat. Ezri was staying with my folks while I was trying to figure my housing situation out. When I was ready to have Ezri again, my dad asked if they could keep her. Ezri is such a good cat, likes to sit in laps and loves to be petted, so she's perfect for my mom. I miss her, but I am glad she's keeping my mom company. I also have a dog named Cortana.
Sometimes we write informative and witty comments about astrophysics or the Italian political situation. As for the topic of the thread, years ago I wanted to name my parents' cat T'Pring: she had the attitude down to a notch. They couldn't pronounce it, so we settled on Pussy. Yeah.
I have a cat named Ryker. I have a dog named Jake (Sisko) I have a cat named Harry (Mudd) I had a dog named Molly - Janeway's dog, and O'brien's daughter were both named Molly. I honestly wasn't looking to name Trek names, it just worked out that they also fit Trek characters. Ryker was named for Commander Riker, but I didn't name him. He came to us with that name. The two kittens, Harry and Merlin, I originally wanted to name Fry and Bender, but my wife wouldn't let me.
Thanks! He is! They need a very tall custom built cage since they are aboreal, and yes, they don't need as much attention as a dog or a cat, but they do poop and quite a lot so you have to clean the cage up very often. and if you don't handle them to keep them timid, they will bite you hard.
I loved that novel! Jinx was such a sweetheart :3 I was so happy when she finally got her name (Another Star Freedom to-Eeiauo - that would be too long for a pet's name, wouldn't it? XD)
Actually, no. He didn't outgrow his cage, but he wasn't safe around little children. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten rid of him.
Not Star Trek, but Doctor Who; I briefly had a dog I named Nyssa. Unfortunately, while she was good with people, when left alone she destroyed everything in the house that she could.
My original TrekBBS name was JinxtoEeiauo. When I got hooked on Enterprise, I changed it. It's my favorite Trek novel.
