Yeah that was kind of a letdown. It still looks great and I love the mood of it all, but it doesn't show NEARLY enough to get excited about.

I would have been happy just with the awesome shot of Superman walking out of the Fortress and launching into the air, but we didn't even get THAT. :(

It's too early for that kind of trailer to be released.

Here's the version with the Russell Crowe voiceover.

    Edit: beaten to it!

yeah. I don't know what the Comic Con footage was like, but I have no qualms with this teaser. Because it was a teaser and we were teased. This really set up the tone of the film, which I think is the most important part, since most peoples problems with Superman is that he's a perfect boyscout.

But this looks very... human, if you will.

The only thing that was a let down was the fact they didn't show enough. But what they did show looked good. I liked the flight scene and as I said before the realism is something I think will work for this film.

The Jor-El voiceover paraphrases dialogue from Grant Morrison's All Star Superman #12.

Tough call, but I think I like the Jor-el version better. Just a bit more poetic and inspiring.

I prefer the Jonathan Kent one. It's more heartfelt and moving to me.

As far as teaser trailers goes this was fairly good. I could've gone for maybe one more shot of Superman doing something but I felt the the tone of the teaser gave off a very "grounded" vibe. Why Clark is participating in Deadliest Catch I'm a bit curious.

I'll see it on the big screen in about 5hrs.

    Looks wonderful.

You know, that really looked like a guy flying. 'Bout time. ;)

Before settling in Metropolis, Clark Kent travels the world to figure out his place in it. That's been an aspect of the comics for a long time now and the movie is following suit.

I'm impressed. It doesn't look like a Zach Snyder film. :)

Sometimes he looked like a guy flying in a movie. Very graceful and stuff.

This guy looks like he might actually be flying.

    Which, of course, he isn't.

Why does Superman leave white trails in the sky? Does he have jet engines in his boots, do they leave water vapor behind?

Well he's only a tiny speck in the sky here, so who knows. Although I assume the CG Superman in this movie will be much better than the crappy one we saw in SR.

    At least I hope.

I liked the one with the Jor-El voice over much better. As Out of My Vulcan Mind stated the line was paraphrased right out of All-Star Superman.

^ That makes plausible sense and I can accept that. One of the things I liked about SR and now MOS is that with computer graphics they can show Superman flying with some speed which isn't something the other movies could not do well.

I've watched both versions, and I think I like the Jor-El one better. Even though the teasers don't show a lot, I really like the look and tone that it's showing.
