^ Yeah, Dark Victory is pretty damn good, even if I never want to see Robin in a Batmovie.

Scott Beaty's Robin Year One is also excellent. Kind of loosely delves off from 'Dark Victory'.

I'm sure that anyone who's ever tried to take surface streets through a city to get somewhere quickly would understand that being able to travel above the fray would be a huge advantage.

I would think something along the lines of a (stealth) harrier jet would get the job done. It'd get Batman where he needs to go quite quickly, and allow him to land and take off reasonably close to where he needs to be.

Law and the Multiverse has some things to say about the practicality of Batplanes, Blackbirds, and other superhero aviation:

    http://lawandthemultiverse.com/2011...ying-ii-flight-plans-and-air-traffic-control/

The upshot: if Batman used an unregistered aircraft with no flight plan filed in advance, he'd be in violation of federal law the moment he left the ground. And he couldn't file a flight plan without giving Air Traffic Control his name, his address, and the location he took off from. And as soon as he took off in an unauthorized aircraft on an unauthorized trajectory, he would be spotted and have military aircraft sent after him. Isn't he in enough trouble with the law already as of the end of The Dark Knight?

Yes...and he's a vigilante anyways so he's already violating a whole slew of laws just by his very existence .

    But it's stealth. ;)

And I don't know how many things have changed since 9/11, but if you're able to hijack 4 airplanes, alter their course and crash them in buildings in major American cities, then Batman can fly from A to B unnoticed.
