Oh I wholeheartedly agree. Much better IMHO than Trek did for the most part. Very even-handed and effective.

And to think I almost gave up on the series after watching "Believers" in S1

I don't think JMS is much of an actor. He does religion and madmen particularly well....hmmm...<g>

    Agreed. *nods*

With the exception of DS9, Trek almost seemed 'afraid' of religion. B5 confronts it several times. And it is always below the surface with the Minbari.

BTW.... did you catch one of the most important, seemingly throw-away lines? Lennier relating that Valen was thought to be "Minbari not born of Minbari"

NOw we see Br. Edward recalling more memories..... and we begin to see that he may not be "Br. Edward" after all.

I love Brother Theo! Too bad we'll never see him again.

I've always wondered if Theo knew who 'Edward' really was?

By the way, just so you guys know...the black and white habits are very close to what the Dominican Order in the Catholic Church wear today. :D

Intriguing question. We never see that he knows he was Charlie Dexter. I think he may know he was once someone else. But this scene with Sheridan indicates he didn't really know anything about Br. Edward's real past

One difference though - the religious orders in the Catholic Church do extensive background checks and also spend alot of time in meetings with the person, examining their ENTIRE pasts. ;)

They seem to be brown as opposed to black.

Br. THeo said that since his order has little resources they can't afford to do much of a background check

Well if that is the case, then they are close to the Carmelites.

    Even better! :D

Even Garibaldi wants to be gentle with Edward.

Do you guys think there was really blood on the wall? Or that he imagined it as his memories started to leak through?

They cover that - it was a chemical that disappears.

As intense a man as Garibaldi was, he could express moments of tenderness. Not often, but he could. And he can see Br. Edward is under duress. Makes you wonder later if he ever learned who Br. Edward really was, if he felt the same way about the "death of personality" vs the "death penalty"
