While we're on the topic of Matt Fraction. Has anyone else noticed that "Hawkeye" was not included in the August solicits? I know there have been constant delays on it, and that it has continued slipping in sales recently...just have been wondering what it's status is. Is it on hiatus? Did editorial pull a silent cancel?? I've seen nothing on this.

Same...and I think issue #21 or #22 was going to be the final issue/arc...but they never appeared on the solicits. Kind of thought it weird.

It was nice that Hickman's Avengers this week asked about the dog.

How does brain damaged Bruce reconcile with Banner joining the Illuminati?

I'm guessing Hickman's story takes place before the incident with Banner does, and Hickman just hasn't caught up yet. He's been pretty good with other books continuity.

The state of the Hulk is constantly Fluid.

I'm still pissed that Joe Fixit is gone.

Bleeding Cool is postulating that Marvel might cancel 616 and Ultimate Fantastic 4 to pressure Fox to give back the movie rights.

I want to read about young Sue Storm kissing Namor whenever Reed has his back turned.

It's a miracle that Franklin doesn't have pointy little ears if you ask me.

Well they did have plans. It just turned out Fraction upped and quit the book to spend more time with Inhumanity. Not that his writing on the book was anything to write home about. Most of the recent runs seem to deal with Reed's assholishness and other than McDuffie have run away from the idea of juggling the team lineup like Lee and Byrne did.

If this does happen it seem more like more of the management-editorial dysfunction that is becoming pervasive at Marvel (but the fan press is turning a blind eye to) since the departure of Quesada and Perlmutter deciding to micromanage Marvel.

<<Daisy Johnson was acting director for a while but then there was an assassination scandal so now Maria Hill is the director. Guys, there's an entire book about SHIELD that you're not reading. >>

Is that in Secret Avengers? I'm not reading that one.

The first Miracleman hardcover is an overpriced disappointment.

It's $29.99 and 170 pages long. The story, however, ends on page 117. The rest of the book is sketches, text, inked artwork, cover galleries, and the like. If that doesn't interest you, you're paying roughly 27 cents per page of story. At that price, DC would be holding the line at $5.35. :)

Second, this is a standard comic book size hardcover, not one of Marvel's larger format hardcovers (which are usually sold at the higher price point).

    Third, no dust jacket.

I don't blame Marvel; they spent a lot of time and money to acquire the rights to Miracleman, and they're going to squeeze those rights for every penny that they're worth. Holding this hardcover, though, you can't help but feel like you're being hosed.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Bleeding Cool's follow-up article is interesting.

And flawed. There's one thing that Rich doesn't mention. The evidence he's run that Marvel has put the kibosh on the Fantastic Four comes from people doing work for licensees. Specifically, trading card licensees. All that truly means is that Marvel doesn't want the Fantastic Four and related characters on trading cards for reasons unknown. You can't get from there to the conclusion that the Fantastic Four are pawns in Marvel's hypothetical war with Fox. Lots of assumptions happening, very little evidence.

I don't see any reason why or how Marvel ceasing to publish Fantastic Four would harm Fox in any way with their films because, statistically speaking, a fraction of one percent of the film's audience will have ever read a Fantastic Four comic.

If Marvel wants or needs a Fantastic Four-like concept in the MCU, perhaps they could buy Doom's IV from Rob Liefeld. I'm not saying that they should, just that the possibility (after the Angela purchase) is there.

What if the new big bad in Fantastic Four comics is a sleazy asshole called "Fox"?

And he's a time traveller from the past!

    The 20th Century Fox!

How do I get to see Megan Hilty in an Invisible Girl costume without kidnapping and storing her down a well?

(It just seems like too much work.)

After the movie that came out last week... Is it possible that Quicksilver is now an A-list character?

Too important for Peter David's little X-Factor nonesense?

Although technically he is simultaneously in the unity Avengers and X-Factor, but that's neither here nor there, because someone important up top is going to say, "this bitch smells like money, give him a fricking book."

    "Quicksiver and the Avengers"
