Sci: I'm already using the U.S.S. Mandela for one of my W.I.P. fics, its a Legacy-Class (Design by Galen of SciFi-Meshes.Com.)
U.S.S. Charles F. Adams, Scout/Destroyer class. Named for Civil War Charge' D Affaires to England who broke up the sale of ironclads to the CSA. Thus, helped in saving the Union.
Around round of 5: -- USS Nogura - Miranda Class. Named for the Admiral that gave Kirk back the 1701 in Tmp. -- USS Starhawk - Centaur class/type. No real reason just a name in my head. -- USS Kithomer [sic] - Ambassador Class. Named for the planet that laid the ground work for the Federation Klingon alliance. -- S.S. Taylor - Nova Class Science Ship in civilian hands. Name for Dr. Gillian Taylor from STIV. -- S.S. M'Benga - Olympic Class medical ship. Name from the Vulcan specialist doctor in TOS.
I know that I've already named my ship, but I have two more that you all might approve, U.S.S. Normandy and along side U.S.S. Veteran! James
The USS Chuko Liang. Bonus points if the Captain defeats a Klingon fleet without reinforcements and with a single musical instrument.
SS Boundless - DY-100 class USS Infinity - Mandalay class http://3d.merknet.com/free/mandalay/mandalay.html USS Eon - TOS era Miranda class USS Eternity - MOV era modified Miranda class http://banshees.merknet.com/graphics/digiart/old/eternitydrydock.jpg USS Perpetuity - Ronin class Weird names, but I was going with a certain theme for my fanfic.
USS Bethune, a medical ship is one I'd like to see, perhaps Daedelus class. Or the USS Amundsen small ship, earlier, NX class! OR the USS Thompson bigger, Ambassador class I think. X
I do have a ship -- well, a shuttlecraft that I chose to name the Zhang Heng http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhang_Heng in keeping with the tradition of naming shuttlecraft after astronomers, explorers, scientists, and the occasional TV producer. My STARFLEET chapter is the USS Abraham Lincoln. My daughter refers to it as the Abrahamo Lincolni (from B5). My nomination for a ship name: The USS Bond - James Bond NCC-007 .
USS Gambler NX/NCC-90001, an 11km monster I concocted for an RPG. It was intended to be a parody (hence the designation "Epic Fanboy Class Hyperdreadnought" but over time it's evolved into a serious storyline.
How over-the-top was it? Please tell me it had at least 3 spinally-mounted hyperphasers, or I'll be disappointed.
See if you can work this one out? What about the USS Liberty. But that might have a little In the Pale Moonlight about it.
