My goodness, the latest tribble patch is a massive 1.7GB in size. Be warned.

I just played The Breech on tribble. It involves taking out a HUGE Voth Fortress Ship.

Part 1 plays very much like Sisko using the Mirror-Defiant to attack Mirror-Worf's huge ship in Shattered Mirror. Kinetic Cutting Beam is a very useful for taking out hard points.

Parts 2-5 play out inside the interior of the Fortress Ship. Initially, the ship's layout can be a little confusing. But after a couple of play-throughs, you will know where to go. Big ships with slow turn rates may have some difficulty flying around inside the Fortress Ship. Voth cruiser's Barrier Field are a nuisance. Flanking attacks on them is the key, which means either a high speed, fast turn rate cannon escort or a ship with 360 degrees weapon coverage.

Notes for Part 4: Primary Power Core has 2 rotating shield that makes it immune to damage. Cannon users are screwed since you'll have to repeatedly move and turn the ship to get your cannons in the right position to fire. Broadsiders would probably have a much easier time by moving in big circle around the power core.

So I just tried The Breech. Only had time for one run.... it was kinda confusing... definitely taxing on my older computer... I'll be upgrading in a few months. Was fun though.

I seem to have developed a knack for achieving 1st place in Crystalline Entity elite while playing my Gorn in a fleet Tor'kaht. Unfortunately I have also developed a propensity for neglecting to pick up the box of marks afterward. :/

I did that several time in another scenario until my daughter pointed out to me that I was leaving the reward behind...

I've been getting tons of purple equipment at least. Lessens the sting! But I think I've lost in excess of 200 marks. Aargh.

The new feature episode Sphere of Influence was very good. Good story, Michael Dorn, some great environment design. Quite enjoyed it. And I loved the special bridge officer powers.

Played it through twice with my Fed main to get both special items. The two piece set bonus (warp core and 360 degree antiproton array) boost antiproton damage, and as I'm using antiproton on my HEC, figured I'd try it out.

Not so sure about the carrier yet. Don't have space on that character to open the box. But I am leveling a Klingon science officer that might make use of it.

I totally intended to activate all of the dormant Iconian gateways in the galaxy and thus doom us all to fiery "demon" death, honest.

The new FE is very nice indeed:bolian:
The story is quite good, cool maps and Michael Dorn did good job as Worf.
I really loved the references to TNG and Voyager episodes also.

The reward carrier is OK..but cant say that it is the best looking ship around.
I did unbox it to my main engineering toon, but doubt I will be flying it much right now.

I still suck at this game. lol Too much starship combat for me. Wish it was mostly away team stuff, I'd be playing it every day. But nooooo, I get stuck on a starship part and don't touch it for almost a year. lol

Try the Featured Episodes which Cryptic reruns right now. They still have space combat but are very ground intensive and have generally better stories than leveling content.

Otherwise check out Foundry missions. Some players focus a lot more on ground because it allows more diveser story telling than space.

Finished the feature episode "spheres of influence". Seemed very familiar to the Stargate Universe pilot episode. Both feature going through a gate that is overloading unto an unknown strange and deserted alien ship far away. :)

Enjoyed SOI, but was over all unimpressed. To much "go here, click here, go here, click here". Fun, short, but not particularly challenging.

Not bad, but not much room to explore, pretty straight-line

Also hate when they put two set pieces in the same mission, forcing you to replay the one mission for both pieces. Worse when you're trying to equip multiple toons, so are looking at 4, 6, 8, or more replays. Once per toon would have been fine, save the next set piece for the follow-on mission. A couple other FEs have done this, which sucks. Ok to put a ground and space piece in the same mission, as you could be aiming for either, but putting two space pieces in the same mission is lazy/boring.

Frankly, I"m not impressed enough with the Obelsik carrier to bother with rerunning the mission for my other toons.

I'm running it twice on all my toons simply because the two set items work great on shuttles and fighters.

Yeah, i don't care about the ship, just want the console and beam. Good for shuttles, but thinking I may have it as a rear weapon on my regular ship in place of a turret. I'm running AP anyway, so blends in, and by doing that and the console, there's a 10% AP boost as well, which adds to my front weapons...

Anybody playing right now want to help me beat those damn Naussicans in War is Good for Business? Still can't beat the buggers, and I'm getting fed up to the point where I'm about to go into STO hibernation for another year.
