Hopefully the returning actors from the 24th century shows are playing their actual characters from the shows and not new ones.
Yes, they are playing their original characters. BTW, we are now on IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2621446/
But that timeline was erased when Voyager returned home several years earlier. The only 'screen canon' thing we know for certain post-Voyager is Janeway became an Admiral as seen in Nemesis.
Even though it's something more it sounds like 'Voyager: The Movie' but obviously it's something more. I can't wait to see how the characters are developed, obviously introducing a load of new ones. And Admiral Chekov still at it after all these years. I wonder if Renegades goes to sereis more old friends will be interested in coming back? I'm into all that character development stuff - I presume Phillips' Fixer is a new character so he's not in Talaxian makeup and Ragnar is like an 'our universe' version as his character from OGAM. All sounds good, bring on the shoot!
Yes, Both JG and Phillips will will play different characters other than Martok and Neelix. Picardo will play Doctor Zimmerman, not the EMH. Still this is one on the closest things you will get to a Voyager movie with, Russ, Phillips, Wang, Picardo and Manu (also JG and Graham had guest staring roles in Voyager).
So that's 6 actors reprising roles which isn't bad going (Chekov, Tuvok, Kim, Zimmerman, Icheb and Adm Paris). For the fact fans, in OGAM you brought back Chekov, Tuvok, Uhura, Harriman, Rand, Stonn, T'Pring (7) all played by their original actors, plus original actors playing new characters and a couple of recasts. Renegades is a lot less of a nostalgia fest.
fair enough, just a couple or random castings I was not sure about, Manu Intiraymi (Icheb) for example. Turned into a right Star Trek Voyager fan film. Like the idea of Picardo as Zimmerman.
Yeah, Zimmerman's a smart idea - I was wondering how they'd explain an ageless hologram having aged a decade. (then again, just look at Q!)
