I missed your edit! That bolognese is positively drool-worthy. There's no beating a well made ragu. One of my favourite dishes actually, which I never make myself - 2 hours minimum cooking time is a little much, and I like to keep my time in the kitchen to a minimum! :p So you can imagine what I think about your planned crock pot... :p

As I'm still freelancing and working out of our home, being "Mr. Mom" and handling tasks like dinner has fallen to me. Granted, I have the benefit of having worked in several restaurants, and apprenticing under two 1-star chefs, so I'm not a completely worthless dude in the kitchen. ;)

So, I had enough time to use my morning for dicing onions, carrots and celery (which is long work, to which anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant can attest), and then I simmered the sauce for a few hours. Then, I reduced the sauce even further.

    My God, it was incredible.

If you're not going to mail me some by fast courier, you have to stop the descriptions - I skipped dinner tonight and I'm about to eat this here cushion...

Last night was chicken and penne pasta with broccoli and peppers.

Tonight, it was cheese ravioli in basil & garlic tomato sauce, with seasoned green beans on the side.

This makes baby TrekkieMonster cry. :(

Kidding. I understand what you mean. I know a few people like that. In truth, I wish I were a little less "interested" in food; it might help my waistline.

But, alas, I love food, and I love to cook. Las night was a simple one, though:

Petit filet mignon on the grill, sautéed mushrooms, baked potato and broccoli with a nice glass of red wine (They Hubby was at a work function, so I got to have steak, which he hates.)

We had a Home Run Inn cheese pizza, along with some homemade garlic bread. It was delicious (outside of me slicing a chunk out of my thumb while mincing the garlic).

Pork in white wine and garlic, with rice, and salad in creamy Ceasar dressing.

I just threw things together, and it came out surprisingly well.
