LOL I've got to tell you all something. I have a very close friend. We've been friends since we were both freshmen at Univ... she never really liked Trek and always kinda groaned when I would mention it. Well, she saw this Nimoy/Quinto ad and she says she also saw Quinto today on TV sometime in the morning. She thinks he's really cute/hot and now she's interested in watching STID. I told her she needs to watch ST2009 first (just to see if I could put her off ) and she was like... oh, really? where can I find it? can you send it to me? I wanna watch it!!

And the way she was going on about him, I didn't have the heart to tell her he's "taken"... figured I'll let her find out all by herself

 

I think it should have been Shatner AND Pine.

 

I kinda felt like Quinto and Nimoy were good friends in real life after seeing this. I'd heard that they were, but now I actually can see it.

The Bilbo Song had me on the floor.

 

Watching that again tonight, is still awesome. So awesome. Made me smile when I saw this morning.

The only bad thing about this commercial:

Every single joke will fly right over the head of every mere mortal!

 

Most of them, yes. The commercial was clearly made for Trek fans above all else. Just about anyone will get the Vulcan nerve pinch, though.

 

I liked the subtle use of lens flares when Zach was pulling out of his garage.

 

The subtlety of the lens flare is my only complaint, as it is clearly not canonical. I DEMAND more lens flare in the Pine/Shatner version that is inevitably on the horizon or heads will roll.
