Considering Disney also owns the Avengers, down the line Abrams may get that franchise, too. Saw this special monorail at Walt Disney World this December.

I'm positive this film's gonna suck and Star Trek is ruined forever!

Of course it isn't. It's only 2013. It doesn't come into existence until 2161.

Your insistence on not taking fictional creations seriously is most logical.

Knock it off, already! :rommie: ;)

Here's a stray thought: What if Khan's sleeper ship, Botany Bay, was once found by Captain Robert April's earlier Enterprise - and Khan and his Augments took over the ship and... abandoned April and his crew on Phaedus?

Would they spill that big of a plot point in a comic after spending years carefully hiding what the villain actually is?

Interesting that we still don't get to see Peter Weller or Nolan Noth in this iteration.

If you read the Star Trek Ongoing series of comics, you'll see an issue dealing with how the Vulcans feel about what happened.

Possible spoilers from the cover of Star Trek Ongoing #21, set AFTER the next movie...

Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov and McCoy are all present and correct. Chekov is in yellow again. The Enterprise is there and looks exactly the same. Scotty is blond. No Dr. Marcus.

You can't take a comic book cover as definitive proof of anything, but I was hoping for Into Darkness to shake things up a lot, not end with everything the same as it was at the end of Star Trek.

Do we know for sure issue 21 is set after the movie? That seems awfully quick. The Ongoing series didn't even begin until two years after Trek XI, and it was several months after that any IDW comic dealing with the movie was released, and that was just Nero's sidestory.

EDIT: Never mind. Just did some research and indeed it is set after the movie. Okay, but still that cover doesn't prove anything. I didn't expect for one minute that any of the main cast would leave, and the absence of Carol Marcus from that cover means nothing since we still don't know what her role in the movie is.
