Here's a surprise; Kurt Russell has dropped out of the movie, meaning that whoever plays Woody will be the third actor linked to the role. I wonder is QT only considering actors who have played Wyatt Earp in the past?!

Sasha Baron Cohen has also had to drop out because of his promotional commitments for The Dictator.

What, was he surprised that his film is being released right now? Isn't that something they should have known in advance?
Anyway, I hope it doesn't delay Django, it's so rare that we get western nowadays and this one seems to be a good one as well.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/55588 According to this story, Russell's role won't be re-cast, but his character's role will basically be absorbed into that of the character played by Walton Goggins (The Shield, Justified).

SBC's role was apparently written with Jonah Hill in mind. And yes, his reason for bailing seems odd (apparently it's completely unconnected with Russell's exit).

Can't remember if this was posted or not but apparently Joseph Gordon-Levitt also left this movie, in order to make his directorial debut.

^ Yup, he's in it and it looks like his role just got bigger.

Recasting or replacement has worked out well for QT in the past. Travolta replacing Michael Madsen for Pulp, Bruce Willis playing Butch over Matt Dillon, Samuel L Jackson instead of Lawrence Fishburne (I believe), David Carradine instead of Warren Beatty in Kill Bill, Kurt Russell instead of Mickey Rourke in Death Proof (okay, maybe not that one)

The trailer has leaked online. Looks interesting.

Obviously one doesn't know whether the trailer music reflects the movie at all, but the switch from Johnny Cash to that 70s blaxploitation is certainly very Tarantino.

It looks fucking fantastic. I completely marked out for "Inglorious Basterds" but this might just top that for me.

Hell yeah. And I've a feeling Waltz could be troubling awards ceremonies again

I think Leo is going to be doing the same personally. He could finally get that ever elusive Oscar.

^Meh. If Christof gets Best Supporting Actor, that leaves Leo out. Unless they split it for two actors in the same film.

So...which one would you all prefer for B.S.A.? :)

^ Can't say till we see the movie, can we?

But knowing how Oscar works, I'd say the ceremony would take note of Leo's previous noms without a win, as oppose to Waltz' win in the same category for the same director. So my money would be on them giving it to Leo to make up for his previous losses.

Eh, that trailer didn't show the movie being quite as cool as I hoped. But that could just be the trailer. I was hoping for rule-breaking, offensive insanity and the trailer just seemed a collection of uninteresting cliches. Maybe they'll do a better trailer, later on.

Leo is my pick. I've read the leaked script several times now, and he is going to own the role. Waltz will be very good as well, but this is Leo's award to lose or win.
