What are your favourite funny moments in the different Star Trek series? Preferably scenes without Q or Quark, because we all know their the funniest characters in the ST universe. Here's my top five. 1. Worf expressing his disgust of tribbles in "Trials and Tribble-ations" 2. Most, if not all, of Garak's conversations with Dr. Bashir. 3. Riker making fun of Captain Picard Day in "The Pegasus". 4. Not really meant to be a funny scene, I don't think, but in Sisko's false vision as Mr. Russell in the episode "Shadows and Symbols". The moment when Dr. Wycoff tells Russell to paint over his stories on the walls is great, I just love Avery Brooks' insane chuckle at that moment. 5. Data's joke scene in Generations. Classic.
I've seen the movies more, so those stand out: "Life...forms... you precious little life...forms..." Data pushing Crusher off of the boat -- Sorry, Geordi. It was funny. "One day, one night...psshhht. Kobayashi Maru." "I liked him better before he died" comment in TFF. "I know this ship like the back of my hand--" BANG "They are not the hell your whales." "One damn minute, admiral!" "Well, a double dumb-a** on you!" "Nuclear wessels." Kirk's reaction to Spock in the pool with the whale in TVH. "Yes - no - yes - no - yes. I love Italian. And so do you. Yes." "Computer? Ahhh... Hello, computer!" "Up your shaft!" "Kahhhn!!!"
Probably not an intenionally funny scene but when Tasha sees Worf's targ appear on the bridge, the way she says "what is it" should be turned into a meme or something. Also Data hurling Tasha like a lawn dart in "The Arsenal of Freedom."
The funniest part about that scene is the blueshirt in the background who keeps calmly tapping away at his interface while behind him a bridge officer loudly describes the intense hallucinations he's experiencing. That's focus, man. Picard calling Barclay 'Broccoli' was amazing.
(Worf smashes lute) Worf: "...sorry." or when the computer gets exasperated with Data in "Conspiricy".
Worf showing Giordi the proper way to court a woman- "You have to let her see the fire in your eyes."
Any time Lwaxana freaks Odo out. Dax pranking Odo by moving things in his quarters. Worf saying "I am NOT a merry man!" Worf in the baseball ep of DS9 saying "Death to the opposition!" and "Find him and kill him!" When Odo tells Worf he's talking to a Changeling, not a beverage, and Worf looks at his own drink as Odo walks away. The tribbles raining down on Kirk! Spock saying "One damn minute." Spock mind melding with whales. Spock nerve pinching the asshole with the boombox is gold. Shakaar and O'Brien trying to pull on Kira when she tells them it's time to have Kirayoshi.
Worf disobeying a direct order from his captain and NOT singing when Picard instructs him to in Insurrection. "Sing Worf SING!" *Stern shake of the head* The line about misunderstanding what Picard meant about "knowing Gilbert and Sullivan" was quite funny too, was nice for Worf to have a funny scene in that film before he got lumbered with all that Klingon acne Also: Nog's dancing at Jadzia's hen party. Picard pulling that big gurning smile while walking into the Turbolift in series 1.
"You mean I have to die to discuss your insights on death?" "Excuse me, Doctor, I'm receiving a number of distress calls." "I don't doubt it."
Despite not being meant to be funny at all, I always seem to laugh at Kai Winn's death in the DS9 finale. That scream as she's consumed by fire just tickles me. I'm wrong in the mind tank.
Just something else I remembered: Odo and Lwaxana playing hide and seek in his quarters. Odo would be the best at that game XD
"All right, FINE! But I can't wait to get back to DS9 and see your face when you find out that I never existed!"
There's a lot of great lines in Trek. Two lines that I remember now, and that were meant to be only somewhat funny at best (but which crack me up every time): McCoy, in TMP, after hearing that V'ger wants to join with its creator: (muttering under his breath): "Touch God...? V'Ger's liable to be in for one hell of a disappointment ", because of its sheer cynicism, and "if there's nothing wrong with me, there must be something wrong with the universe!" (dr. Crusher, remember me) -- I only wish I could muster that kind of self-esteem
Worf snapping Weyoun's neck in DS9. Later, the next Weyoun being told, "Maybe you should go in and question Worf again." - or words to that effect.
This! Worf got all the best moments in that episode, except for "What were you doing? Regenerating?!" I also love the scene about the infield fly rule.
"Ummm, excuse me. What does God need with a starship?" Just the look on Kirk's face when he's listening and then says that is priceless to me.
