The only times Clark has flown in this series were when he was conditioned by Jor-El back in season three I believe, end of season two. He was in full Kryptonian mode. The other times we've seen him "fly" he's just using his super speed.

I must say that modified Returns costume looks okay. It still makes zero sense for Jor-El to have zapped it to the Fortress making Clark EARN it. He should earn it for himself, not because his simulcrum tells him to. This is a core fundamental flaw that the series has had in my view. Clark should gradually choose his "destiny" rather than be forced into it by others. It's an aspect of this take on the mythos that I'm vehemently against.

Unless Jor-El is sucking up to Martha.

    He wants to tap that?

Exactly how does an Ice Castle make love to a woman?

When has Jor-El suck up to Martha? They've only had one scene with her in the Fortress where he thanked her for being such a good parent to his kid.

The only thing different is the cape.

We all know that Clark HAD to be forced into his destiny since he's such a douche. Jor-el had to kick his ass for him to move. Otherwise he'd be stuck somewhere.

Clark- You can't control me! I choose my own destiny!

    *Someone dies*

Clark- Okay! I'm sorry! take me back father!!

And when he was inside Jonathan's Mind and inside Lionels mind (different artefact?) that some sort of affection didn't rub off in a HAL 2000 broken logic expression: The mother of the son I am father to is my wife.

The Lex promo was pretty good. The "Dominion" one...not so much.

At least they're not revisiting Clone Zod and his cronies again. I wonder if they're going to remember they're own continuity in this episode?

I was riffing on the whole Jor-El is Lionel thing, since they've pretty much been written the same for half the series. And Lionel literally was Jor-El at one point...

On Breaking In last week, Rosenbaums character called that god from NASCAR "Superman".

Its early enough in that the script might have been written before Rosie was cast, but it must have been some what odd, even for him.

I am starting to get a little worried now about the series finale. There is alog of ground still to be covered: Clark has to "earn" the suit; he has to learn to fly; he has to defeat Darkseid; and there has to be an explanation about Lex's return. I don't know if the writers can pull off . That is alot of multitask/multiple stories for a two-hour episode. Unless the first hour is devoted to Darkseid and the second hour devoted to Lex, maybe????

^ I don't think you have anything to worry about, Tyberius, especially since the fight with Darkseid will take 25 seconds tops.

Its possible that they learned their lessons from the previous underwhelming fights. Ideally Superman's first meeting with Darkseid should not end with a fight anyways. Just setting up his presence. To show Clark that evil will always exist. You know that he was a "Never-Ending Battle" to fight. Buts that probably too subtle for this show!
