Hi I just finished with the book q squared (which I enjoyed a lot) and I was wondering if the book a stitch in time is any good. I have heard quite a few people on here mention it but I was wondering if i was as good as books like the destiny series, q in law, q squared, and imzadi which i all enjoyed a lot.

It is regarded quite well by people around here. I think it is one of the better Trek books ever.

And it isn't even ghost-written - Andrew Robinson wrote every line himself.

It is one of my favorite TrekLit reads. I've read that book at least a dozen times.

Stitch is an outstanding book...just don't expect something as "big" as Destiny or the Q books.

It's an excellent novel, but understand that it is the autobiography of Elim Garak. So it's a very intimate, psychological novel.

I'm reading it right now, and I love it. I don't want it to end. Ever.

Big ups to Andrew Robinson. Not only does he play an awesome Cardassian, he writes an awesome biography of one, too.

What makes this book so amazing is that the actor who played Garak, Andrew Robinson, developed a detailed backstory for his character over the years as he was playing him. So what you're seeing in the book is based on what Robinson came up with to inform his performance as Garak during the run of the show.

IIRC, didn't he used to do a series of stage performances of Garak autobiographical monologues at conventions (prior to turning this into a book)? Seems like I had been hearing about this for years before the book, which made finally reading it an extra treat.

As far as I know he's also the only Trek actor to write a solo novel, without a professional writer co-author. (I could be wrong about that.)

Also its a really well-written novel.

I really thought Andrew Robinson's novel about Grarak is well written and I like the backstory about Garakthat fills in the stories he told Bashir during the tun of the tv series.I read this book last summer it's one of the best ds9 standalone I've ever read.

As everyone else has said, it's excellent. If you're a fan of Garak at all, then you owe it to yourself to check it out.
