This sounds to me like a Kryptonian invasion of Earth led by Zod. It might have shades of JJ Abrams' plot. Remember that?

Do they still play up the notion that the Kents aren't able to naturally conceive, and that Kal-El was a sort of miracle baby for them (in a sense other than, you know, the obvious)? That would tend to age them up, although not necessarily so (plenty of people try to have kids in their early 20s).

I agree. This doesn't sound like the typical origin story we're used to. I have always been excited about the new movie although I wasn't crazy about an origin story but it sounds like this one will be done creatively and we may get something interesting and new.

Amen. Why should a 2012 movie be stuck with the racial preconceptions of the 1930s, just because that's how they had to do it way back when? This new movie isn't a period piece.

That's like saying that Clark and Lois have to use manual typewriters and dress in 1930's attire--because, damnit, that's how it was done the first time around! :)

They could bring back Lois' bob haircut. I wouldn't be offended. :adore:

Dennis, how do you trash Smallville (which I don't even really like, btw) and yet praise a piece of crap like Green Lantern to high heavens?

"Green Lantern" was not a piece of crap. It just had flaws...kind of like "Smallville" :)

Agreed. Plus Green Lantern actually had, like action and a superhero doing heroic, super-powered things.

Maybe not as much as some fans would like, but certainly more than we got in Smallville.

One of these days, I ought to actually watch an episode of Smallville. Lots of people talk shit about how it's too whiney and slow and stuff, which means I'd probably think it was great.

I did see a clip once. It was about some guy with long hair who was a Luthor of some extraction and Martha Kent in a deathtrap and it was the most bald-faced, inept ripoff of Saw I've ever seen. It involved a word jumble. A fucking word jumble.

Maybe it wasn't ass in context, but I doubt it.

I still think Amy Adams as Lois Lane is a bad, bad idea. She isn't glamorous at all compared to the supporting actresses in the movie - Diane Lane, Julia Ormond and Antje Trau - and she just isn't the 'Lois' type in my Supes fanboy mind. Neither was Erica Durance mind you, but Durance at least had the sheer hotness factor about her, which Adams definitely...lacks. If anything they should just swap out Antje Trau to be Lois Lane and Amy Adams to be Faora. That'd make more sense.
