The Romulan War will not be discussed at great length in the film, but the characters are greatly affected by the political/social climate that came out of the war. So the film concerns itself less with the details of the war, and more with how it affected the way people think. Like in "Balance of Terror", very few specifics of the conflict will be revealed.

Well, I thought since this is six decades before TOS, I wanted the TOS tricorders to feel lavish by comparison. But all that aside, this is just a prototype prop, so I'm definitely still open to suggestions!
That's a rock and a hard place aesthetic choice, isn't it? Have to make it look futuristic, yet not as advanced as tech on a 60's show...

I plan on holding auditions sometime after the script is done. Right now, I'm still technically writing, so auditions are still a few months off!
