Like they say (and if they don't they should) if you want to keep these things a secret don't go showing the episodes in advance. The real villain of the Xmas Special is... Spoiler: Wait for it... The Great Intelligence. Which makes the casting of Ian McKellen as the "voice of the Snowmen" much more understandable. Oh yes, and now look at this photo again without paying attention to Vastra's "human" hands. I'm sure you noticed the tin but what's that on the windows...

It's a pretty cool thing. Though I will say that between this revelation (which Tom Spilsbury confirmed on Twitter in a series of now-deleted Tweets) and Moffat's paeon to "Evil of the Daleks" on the Advent Calendar, I'm starting to get suspicious that there may be a missing episode announcement in the near future.
