I usually don't ask for theses but I was hopping you can send some for my friend Sarah's son (11) He was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. he's a nice kid and a great little hockey player. Thank you in advance. Bill.
My mother-in-law had lymphoma (not sure if it was Hodgkin's), and she wasn't expected to last the year. She managed to keep going for nine years, seeing our wedding and her first two grandkids' births before she succumbed. Prayers sent!
Prayers sent. I think Hodgkin's Lymphoma generally has a really high long-term survival rate these days, especially in the young, to the extent that they're trying to use less radiation and milder chemo so patients don't have secondary problems thirty or forty years later. Let's hope!
Yep. Especially the chances for children are extremely good. It's fortunately one of the less difficult kinds of cancer. Being an atheist I doubt prayers would help, but send a really huuuuuuuuuge hug and a thumbs up! Btw, if the kid has trouble with the side effects of the chemo/ray therapy: ginger works miracles against the nausea. Children often dislike the sharp taste of ginger but there are tasty versions like chocolate coated candied ginger or ginger-chocolate. (I have 3 cancer cases in my family, hence I've developed into an expert on fighting side effects ) If you'd trust us with an address or a PO-Box address, we could write get well soon letters for the kid. Or we could write them, scan them and email them for you to print and give to the boy. It might cheer him up. Positive thinking, the docs say, increases the healing chances massively.
How distressing The poor child. He and his family have my best wishes; I hope he receives the best of care. As Rhubarbodendron said, anything that can help keep him uplifted and in good cheer will help.
Thank you, I'll pass this along. He starts his Cemo tomorrow. at BCCH one of the best in the Country. a truly amazing place. his mom is going to keep me updated later this week. but she told me Sat his marrow came back good, and he has a very positive out look, he just missing his sports this year.
They had a Human interest story on her son last night, about the Bottle drive on Feb 24 , 2013 to help them. I filled my truck with Bottles from work to help.
I just recently posted a song I did as a prayer for those facing the unknown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsx1Fii-O5A <3 Bless that sweet child, and may God aid in restoring his health.
I was away last week visiting Family,so I couldn't keep updated like i'd like I do know the bake sale and bottle drive that I took those bottles to raised just under $9000 to help him and his mom with expenses, He has posted on his Face book that his hair is starting to fall out, but he doesn't care about that. I haven't had a chance to talk to his mom, but I don't think he has started the 2nd round of Chemo yet. I will post as I know more.
Prayer uploaded. Stay strong, I lost my father five weeks ago to complications with Parkinsons and pneumonia, and it's not a fun time.
My friends (still want to help) and I are still praying for him. BTW, nice truck! Do you like it and does it get good MPG? I'm in the market and it is one I am considering.
