Well I haven't, despite being told it's on it's way.

Just got off the phone with them again for the third time.

They've been having issues with stock availabilty or so they say, and it should be with me next week or within a fortnight at the latest.

I gave them some feedback that perhaps they should have sent out an e-mail to customers saying they were having stock issues. To avoid phone calls etc.. They guy I spoke to said he would feed it back.

If they are having stock problems it would tend to indicate that it has been more succesful than they thought it would be.

I just received number 3 today, the bird of prey. There was a short letter to say they are out of stock of issues 1 and 2 due to 'overwhelming popularity'. I might take some photos and put them on my website. If I do I'll post the link here.

I also receieved Issue 3 today, along with the same letter.

From what I know, I believe it is was in the shops in the South West (Bristol area), know with the power of social media perhaps word spread and people outside of the initial launch area subscribed. Pushing up the expected number of subscribers.

Though as partworks are often trailed in one region before a national rollout perhaps in the next few months it'll launch nationally as the demand appears to be thre.

Well the direct debit schedule for my subscription suggests at least 42 issues!

I'm hoping with that many issues we might get some of the slightly more obscure designs, such as the Valdore, some Enterprise Vulcan ships, The Enterprise-J, Prometheus class, etc.

Then in a world of fantasy that I know will never come true they could add on a couple of issues for the Luna and Vesta classes <dreams>.

Ok, issue 2, the movie Enterprise, just arrived.

And it's broken. The saucer section has completely separated from the rest of the ship and when you feel the different pieces you can see why. The saucer section is quite heavy and feels like its made of metal. The rest of the model weights next to nothing and feels like you could crush it in your hand.

(Sort of like what those aliens did in that episode where they turned some of Kirk's crew into little tetrahedron things and crushed the cute lady crew member. But I digress...)

So I've taken a photo and sent it to the customer service email address. We'll see what happens.

Any good points? Well, the engines are moulded in a transparent blue plastic and then painted over, so when you hold it up to the light the nacelles 'light up' quite nicely.

But at a RRP of £9.99 the quality and value for money is pretty rubbish overall. I'll stick with it until I get my dedication plaque and light-up Borg cube and then decide if I'm going to stick with it.

I also got issue 1, hopefully they'll now have an idea of how many they actually need. So hopefully they'll arrive when they are meant too.

I like the idea of getting a bunch of ships in the same scale, but QC issues this early is...troubling.

I would hardly call 1 damged evidence of a lack of Quality Control.

Granted, but thus far on that issue, it's 1 damaged out of a sample group of 1, with a report of innoportune construction methods being the cause of the damage.

^well It's actually 1 out of a sample of two, as all of mine have been undamaged. But that's still too small a group to draw any meaningful conclusion about QC or lack thereof.

    Bump!!

Has anyone heard anything more about this?

Are the people with a Direct Debit still getting it?

I've been meaning to ask in Smiths if this did get rolled out nation wide, but keep on forgetting!

I saw the Romulan Warbird in Chippenham Smiths months ago, but nothing since!

It got delayed after the factory making the ships got shut down. So they had to find a new one. Which they have now done. It is now due to start again in August, and those who were already signed up will be getting a an extra little poster, woo!
