UPDATES: Here are links pointing to the posts featuring newer iterations of this project:
    TOS Season 2/3 Bridge Update
    Cage Bridge
    WNMHGB Bridge
    TOS Season 1 Bridge

I know, I know. Another thread, featuring another build, of another Enterprise, using another game engine. I wish I could focus on just one Enterprise but I can't!!

Needed a break from the Refit Enterprise interiors, so I decided to go ahead and start a new TOS Enterprise build. I'm starting from scratch from my previous TOS build (that used the ancient Quake III engine), and am not borrowing any assets from that build.

Anyway, I've been secretly building the Bridge (secret except to those that view my blog), and today I made a final lighting compile, loaded up the game, and took some screenshots for your viewing pleasure. I should have a video up sometime soon showing off the blinkies.

Much thanks goes to the crew at TOSgraphics.com for allowing me to use their research for the control panel surfaces. Although I constructed all the viewing screens from scratch, the research that they've done was immensely helpful in nailing the graphics, blink patterns, and timing.

Here are the shots of the bridge.

Very nice Donny! I see you added the "Jettison Pod" option to the Captain's chair. :D

How long did it take for you to make all those graphics (even with TOSGraphics.com help) ?

I want to say about a week and a half. Once I got the workflow down it wasn't too bad.

Awesome job Donny! While there have been many cool classic bridges in the past, I think you're the first to get the lighting right and that makes a world of difference. This version is beautifully done and pretty much photo realistic.

...but will it have the mysterious floating key lights that envelop the female guest star in a comforting glow? :D

Haha...I've been showing my girlfriend the classic episodes for the first time and she cracks up every time she sees that cheesy glow all the females seem to have in close up shots.

You know, that won't be too hard for me to replicate once I get some female character models in there. ;)

    Most impressive!

That glow is most likely from a 1/4 or 1/2 fog filter they use on the lens.

Re: TOS Enterprise Interiors -- Unreal 3 Engine

Here's the video I promised, mainly showing off the blinking display screens. Again, special thanks to Will at TOSgraphics.com for allowing me to use his research. I am not claiming these blink patterns and timing to be extremely accurate due to limitations with animated textures in Unreal 3. I'd go into a long explanation but I suppose it's not necessary, as these are as close as I could get them, and they will have to do.

    Watch it in 1080p!
