Well in Nolan's Batman Begins the Waynes are killed leaving the Opera which makes a bit more sense for their lifestyle and such.

"Everyman" in the sense he has no superpowers, "the X-Gene" or any other super-human ability common in comic books. Tony Stark's only "powers" should be smarts and money.

really the reason is because he has always been drawn that way. If batman was real I am sure he would have a helmet of some kind.

Getting back to the original question, how many Golden Age heroes had full masks? The only ones I can think of (without research) is the Atom, Doctor Fate and Sandman, and the latter two also sported half-masks at various times. (Hawkman almost qualifies, but his chin wasn't covered.) Batman's mask is the rule rather than the exception.

Batman's costume is a disguise with a dramatic flair. It wasn't intended to be armor. Even the gloves where an afterthought, intended to defeat fingerprints. The armor thing only started with Miller, and way too much of his "what if" story was later incorporated into Batman gospel (which has rather blunted the shock value of what he did with the character). Then in 1989 the called the Keaton muscle suit "armor" to get around the fact that it didn't look like real muscle (though I still think it was the best on-screen incarnation).
The SWAT suit he wore in the lat three movies was absurd.

    Ah. Well that's different then.

Error on my part, what I get for typing before my nap. I meant his "powers" being wealth and smarts.

Steve Rogers: Big man in a suit of armor. Take that away and what are you?
Tony Stark: A genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.

The Atom switched to a half mask towards the end of his GA adventures and wore it until the 90s.

And an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope!

Amongst his powers are wealth, money, ingenuity and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope...

Batman's list is even longer, since he's also a detective, escape artist, master of disguise, pilot, computer expert, and ninja who's fluent in more languages than you can count and skilled in every martial art known to man.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it makes a god damn difference which movie your parents are murdered after, regardless if you're 8 or 18.

The one thing Batman didn't have time to prepare for? What movie he wanted to see that night.

    Yes it does.

    (Maybe.)

Bruce made them see Finding Nemo.

Begged, nagged, pleaded, held his breath, bargained and lied till he got his way.

He made them see that movie and that movie killed them.

Either the movie killed them, or he did.

I mean, if dad took him to see Zorro, them Dad killed mum and himself.

Yeah, dads movie killed mum, it wasn't me, I was a victim too.

    Yeah.

Do you really think Bruce Wayne is the perfect model of clinical sanity?
