Excellent news! Frankly I haven't missed Danny or stacy as much as I thought I would have, and to be honest I'm enjoying this season more than the last one where Adrian Lester was missing. Danny made a strange leader, and the new kid they got in was unbeleivable awful!
I've only watched the first episode of this series, so far, and honestly, I had trouble remembering whether I watched the whole of last series or not, so it can't have made much of an impact on me.
Good stuff, although i personally think the first three seasons of the show were there best and had the best cast, but the latest incarnation is OK and does the job. It entertains me and that all that's important. But i have to ask myself, why do i continually pick and enjoy shows that seem to have a miserly six episodes a year, Hustle, The It crowd, Screen wipes......
Yeah 6 episodes just isn't enough when you like a show. Then again I think american tv goes too far the other way having 20+ eps a season. I can make shows drag, and encourages padding (a lot of passing in some instances) Personally I think Dr Who has it right with 13 episodes (14 if you count the Christmas special) but this might be a holdover from my love of Blakes 7, which also had 13 ep series.
Personally I think TV would be better if there wasn't a set number of episodes you're expected to do per year. So if the writer/writing team thinks they have time/story/the production team and can make 4 good fantastic episodes per series then let them do it, if they think they can manage 13 then do 13.
Is it? There's an awful lot of padding in US shows. A lot of the time they could tell the story in a 22 episode season within 12 episodes easily, and you can end up with some real clunkers in there. Sure there are some fantastic shows out there, but I think the main shows over here that pad are fairly rubbish to start off with.
Thanks for the heads-up on this! Now I can finally update my Hustle review site! I didn't even realise they were doing season 5 at the moment. The last news I had heard was that the cast had gone its separate ways and were unlikely to be reunited. I think season one was by far the best, but it remained a very 'fun' and entertaining show, with great chemistry, so I'm looking forward to seasons 5 and 6. Great news that Adrian Lester is back - he's a strong on-screen presence, and the show didn't work as well with Danny as leader.
Series 5 finishes tonight, here in the UK. They're apparently working on a deal for a movie, with Fox, set in the US and including the whole cast, but I don't think there's been much said about that since they announced series 5.
having the original cast back together for the movie is great, and possibly why its said Stacey & Danny were working the con in the US, but what happens to Emma & Sean?
SIXTH?!? I didn't even know they'd come back for a FIFTH. Can't say I'm surprised I didn't know, since I didn't even finish watching series four because it just felt so meh without Mickey. Can't say I'd even want to watch any more of it now since that "Hustle" gadget guy has put me off with his dismal "American" accent and Giles take-off on that dreadful new "Demons" show.
According to TubeTalk Hustle is moving to Birmingham for series 6. I notice wamdue has had a comment there... And since his location is Peterborough I'm assuming it's the wamdue who posts here?
yes thats me, figured I could add a little humour, I dont really want to see a crossover with Doctors
I'd give it a shot. I think series 1 and 2 were probably the most inventive, and they tended to break the 4th wall quite a lot and explain to you the idea behind their con. It was an interesting twist on the idea. Series 4 was fairly horrible, but it picked up a bit in series 5. They're currently repeating the edited for ads versions on Virgin 1, but I seem to remember you can't get freeview?
