http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/star-trek-actress-kate-mulgrew-publish-memoir-20822153 I asked her about this at a con a couple years ago and she was super pleased to be asked and said yes, she was working on one. YAY!
Good news. She really has had an unusual career. NBC kept trying to fit her into something during her twenties, some film roles in notable hits, Janeway, and now Orange is the New Black. A lot of actresses her age burned out at 30.
That's one thing that separates her from those 30-yr-old ingénues too. She's an actor, and actors need to act because its what they want to do. It's what they live for. There was a great TV Guide interview with Bill Bixby when he was in one of his short-lived series, I think it was The Magician. The final words were Bixby's: "God, I love to act."
I want an autographed copy that says, "To my dearest teacake.. thank you for everything! Love, Kate."
Now I dunno about that sobriquet JRulez, have you see the ORANGE thread lately? Someone (not me) is VERY up on every jot and tiddle..
Oh and here's the link with the GORGEOUS PHOTO.. http://news.yahoo.com/star-trek-actress-kate-mulgrew-publish-memoir-221422623.html

Has anyone else seen 'The Captains' documentary by William Shatner. Shatner's interview with Kate is awesome. Kate talks about her father didn't want her to be an actor and forced her to go to university. Kate accepted all so she could get to New York and start acting, which she did and dropped out of university after 1 year. Kate speaks about how all she wanted to do was be an actor and the way she talks about being an actor is so passionate and professional. The full version of The Captains is on youtube, check it out!
