Abrams Directing Star Wars

It'll more likely be around 2020 when we see the next reboot.

 

Would this really be a change of pace? At one time didn't the guy have two TV series on the air while making movies?

Sounds a bit like a fanboy's response, but he won't get any flack for it, because he isn't one.

 

Which part? The joke about kidnapping? Calling Abrams a "science-fiction genius"? Predicting Star Wars will be a great film? Laughing off a Kirk cameo in Star Wars?

Do we know he isn't a fanboy?

 

Reception to the news on the SW fan and collecting sites I frequent seems to be positive for the most part. I've run into a few of the predictable "Abrams made a lousy Star Trek so he'll ruin Star Wars" twits who can't accept any Trek that isn't from Roddenberry or B & B (provided they even like Trek at all....some SW fans seem physiologically incapable of liking both franchises at the same time) but about, oh, four out of every five responses are either optimistic or excited.

One of my favorite comments was the guy who posted: "If this means more women in miniskirts and black boots in Star Wars I say HELL, YEAH, go for it!"

 

No. It doesn't. Not in any way.

 

If someone else said, "I think if that turns out to be the case we'll have to kidnap him and hold him hostage until he agrees to do a third," everything would go on lockdown.

 

Nah, most people would assume the person making the statement was joking. Just today my co-workers and I joked about not letting our supervisor leave the company by tying him to a chair. No one called police.

 

Nope.

 

Oh relax cupcake, it was a joke.
