It looks like a nuTrek version of the old Akyazi-class fan design to me.

I thought the nacelles looked very Sovereign class.

    Don't know, don't care.

It's all hot starship porn to ME, and I'm salivating at all the new eyecandy that's likely in store for us, no matter what they call them!

Hot Wheels is coming out with the second ship for the next Star Trek movie, but it has not been revealed what that ship is or what it will look like.

Looking at some of the screencaps, a thought occured: The crashing ship doesn't even have to be right-side up. Looking at some of the screen caps, I was wondering if this is what an Akira-variant would look like upside down.

I saw the hobbit yesterday and swore I saw an aft view of the Intrepid from the NX-01 era: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Intrepid

This was in a chase scene and we saw it from behind.

I think this ship just might be a freshened up version of that with cranked nacelle supports.

It can't be. If you look at the pic I posted, the outline clearly shows a circular hull. The nacelles are completely different too, sharing only a basic cylindrical shape.

From the leaked nine minutes yesterday, one can see this ship during the shot of someone jetpacking through space:

And while it is by no means identical, it reminds me of Chris Madden's Enterprise-F concept for STO

It was probably Eaves or Drex who did work on this, if not Church, so perhaps a similar motif. The splashdown saucer didn't look so circular right at the last.

There looks to be a flat back edge to the saucer at least:

Hard to tell. I want to see Chris's ship on screen though.

    Please let this be true!
I really want another round of the Hot Wheels trek ships.
My wishlist includes: [must have!!] Klingon Battlecruiser (D7 - movie version) & 1701-E. Then Voyager, Kelvin & DS9.

[update] Looks like we're going to get Excelsior, and a (ST XII) Klingon battle cruiser & a new (ST XII) ship.
