Well, apparently there will be some live action Blue Beetle shorts as part of Cartoon Network's DC Nation. But, I doubt they're related to the proposed show.

From the writers of Green Lantern? I think I'll pass.

Psycho prequel in the works from A&E.

Okay, that's not strictly supernatural, but I'm stretching the rules to let it in here. ;)

As a proportion of TV development overall, sf/f is more dominant so far this year than I've ever seen. I've seen a smattering of non-genre shows in development (Starz' Marco Polo sounds interesting).

Yes, but somehow it will turn out that the majority of what they order will be cop/doctor/lawyer shows.

Not by a lot, considering the lack of professional consensus on the validity of Dissociative Identity Disorder. Also, a certain Fincher-directed movie (not Alien 3 or Benjamin Button) did get shown several times on the UK Sci-Fi channel a few years back.

Maybe not proportionately as many as in the past. I think the word has gotten around that business as usual is not a good strategy on the Titanic. ;) CBS hasn't gotten the message but its more desperate brethren have.

    Yet more news.

Star Trek returns to its roots: Wagon Train reborn! :D

Okay, that's not really genre stuff (sounds good tho). How about "Twin Peaks meets Northern Exposure meets Lost"?

And this one sounds goofy enough that I'm tossing it in the sci fi bin:

Meh, I don't think anything mentioned on this last page interest me much. I might check some of them out if they get a really positive reaction, but none of these descriptions make me excited for this stuff.

Midnight Sun sounds perilously reminiscent of The Event.

I'll wait to hear more of the casting descriptions before I am sure it's a genre series. I wasn't convinced about The Event until I was reading the press releases last summer.

NBC's references to Twin Peaks and Lost signal an intent to be genre pretty strongly. If not, wow, they need to fire their PR people because they are setting up the wrooooong expectations. :D

EDIT: Another show in development by SyFy:

Okay, as long as it's a scripted drama and not one of their bogus "reality TV" shows. But they really gotta change that name...

    Here is a weird one...

 That isn't a new series in development and there probably won't be news about S2 of The Secret Circle until April. :sigh:

[edit] Plus alot of your questions could be answered by searching Google.

[add] Plus there is a Secret Circle thread you participate in and any news about S2 will probably show up there...not in a thread like this. :techman:

Here are CW's rankings from before the Xmas break (not enough results in the new year for current data). The Secret Circle is just behind The Vampire Diaries on the list. Unless it's on a fast trajectory downwards, it seems safer than other CW shows. But TVD is so much stronger than everything else, it's wrecking the curve.

Rats! Powers may be in trouble.
If they do pull it off, it sounds like it could be worth the effort:

Would be really interesting to see this outside Sweden. The trailer looks good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKOZoAdhHso&

I'm stealing this from the Doctor Who board - Russell T Davies is currently working on a couple of BBC projects: Aliens vs. Wizards which is being described as Doctor Who meets Harry Potter, and which not only involves much of the crew of the late, lamented Sarah Jane Adventures (which falls into the don't knock it unless you've seen it category - SJA was a far more intelligent, mature series than folks give it credit for), but it's already been commissioned for 2 seasons before the BBC has even officially announced it. And RTD is also working on something for BBC Worldwide called "Star Lost" which I assume is not connected to the Harlan Ellison-Ben Bova series, but you never know.

There's been no word as to whether a 5th season of Torchwood is in the pipeline.

Oh look, it's my lost thread. :rommie: I'll ask the mods to merge this and the other one I started when I couldn't find this one.
