It's been way too long since I've revisited New Frontier, but I seem to remember the Prometheians' medallion being more, well, hand-held.
Apparently she was a place holder for Peter David. On startrekromane.de I found a version with him in hir position:
Cross Cult has posted a draft for the cover of the German translation of Enterprise: The Good That Men Do: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...796548230.147081.270679318230&type=1&comments
I recently stumbled upon the German covers. They have all been so much better. The Destiny ones are great, too. I especially like their presentation of Calhoun; he looks more like you would expect for someone from a desert planet.
When I was in Germany last week I was looking out for these books in train stations. The people of Ulm seem to be bigger Trekkies than those of Munich based on the number of books in shops.
For the first time in quite a while CC has released another cover draft. This time for Einheit, the German translation of Unity: http://8of5.blogspot.com/2012/01/coming-soonish-from-cross-cult.html
That is a good cover, wish some of the US covers were more interresting. Vanguard covers have been pretty good.
I only just noticed the drunken Xindi-Insectoid looming over Calhoun's shoulder. I'm assuming its drunk, anyway. It looks like it's about to interrupt Calhoun's story and start loudly bleating on about its own problems. I trust this doesn't actually happen in the translation, though if any books could handle such an addition and take it in stride, it would be the New Frontier series... I wonder why they chose a Xindi-I; because it's exotic, I assume?
I wonder why they translated Once Burned as "Burned Child." Is that part of a German expression that approximates the meaning of "Once burned, twice shy?"
And now I wanna hear the Xindi war told from the insectoid perspective. ". . . Had everything under control until the Blunder Lizard stepped in and ruined everything."
