Forbidden Planet is one of the greatest films ever, and is one of my fondest childhood memories. I'll always remember Leslie Nielsen as Commander Adams. RIP, Mr Nielsen.
I completely agree. Nielson was a comedic genius, but he was also a great dramatic actor. Having said that, I'll have to pull out the Due South episodes he was on and and watch them in his honor.
My first memories of him was on Disney's TV show as Francis Marion, The Swamp Fox. Wish that old b/w series was out on DVD. He was always a top notch actor. Met him once at a golf tournament in Montgomery Alabama. Nice guy. He served in the RCAF so /** good sir. RIP
Oh yes, very sad indeed. A wonderful dramatic actor and of course, a master at comedy. Thank you sir for many many hours of pleasure. You will be missed.
