The USS Titan makes a cameo in the latest issue (#3) of Brannon Braga's "Hive" mini-series of IDW's TNG comic!

I assume this is our first official pic (below left) of First Officer Christine Vale?

It certainly looks like it. :) It's always good to have character art; I wish it were more common.

What's up with the Galaxy-class horse shoe rail? I always figure Titan's bridge to be an amalgamation of the Intrepid and Sovereign class bridges.

    Coolness.

Although I too am confused about the guy in the foreground. I can't think immediately of any regular Titan bridge character that fits. It kinda looks like Data with a goatee.

Wasn't there a bit Taking Wing where we're told it's the actual horseshoe railing recovered from the wreck of the Enterprise-D? Or did I hallucinate that?

That pretty much looks like how I've imagined Vale so it works for me. Also, I think the Titan designer Sean Tourangeau created an image of the Titan's bridge (which was essentially a mash-up of the Enterprise-D and E designs, complete with horseshoe railing).

He doesn't correspond to any character I'm aware of.

Hehehehe. I just heard back from Heather Jarman, who is often mentioned by the other authors as the person they had in mind as a physical template for Vale. She's blushingly in denial. :alienblush: ;)

Same here! Being red/green colourblind, I didn't even notice her collar colour until after I scanned the image and posted it.

Because it's an IDW comic book. Details are not their forte.:p

I'm not caught up on the most recent Titan books, but is Tuvok still the tactical officer while Ranul Keru is chief of security? Maybe the tactical department is now considered part of the command branch along with flight control, so they wear red while security officers still wear gold.

Probably not, but that'd be one way to explain it.

Worf was still allowed to wear red after returning to the Enterprise, so why not?
