While this thread might be considered off topic, I hope I'll be afforded a bit of latitude in posting it. As I recall, non-Star Trek projects by Trek writers are considered fair game by our fine moderators here in this corner of the BBS. If I've violated the rules, please feel free to close or delete the thread.

That being said, I wanted to let folks know that the second volume of Winston Engle's Thrilling Wonder Stories is currently scheduled for release in January. Of particular interest is that Mr. Engle has focused this book on the "writers of Star Trek," including such notables as David Gerrold, Diane Duane, and Larry Niven. The new stories from these folks are not Trek fiction, of course, but they are most assuredly SF. I don't see the edition available on Amazon yet, though the site does list Volume 1. As far as I know, the follow-up will also be a mass-market paperback. Information on Volume 2 can be found on the Thrilling Wonder Stories website, including information about and an excerpt from my own contribution, a short story entitled "Moon Over Luna."

    Happy holidays to all!

^ To paraphrase Mark Twain's famous quote upon reading his obituary in the New York Journal, any report of my demise was an exaggeration. I've been around, but there hasn't been too much posted lately that seemed to warrant my response. I try not to foist my web presence upon people unnecessarily.

Fair enough... though now you've got me curious as to what my post-count will be seven years from now.

But as long as you pop in now and again to tell us about great upcoming projects... :) and don't accidentally vanish. Because Twilight (the cool DS9R one (and one of my absolute fav DS9R books!!) of course!) and the WoDS9 Dominion story were great, and I want more!

^ Many thanks for the kind words, Marie. It's always gratifying to hear that one or another of my works has satisfied a reader.

^ You know me so well...foist in war, foist in peace, and foist in the hearts of my countrymen (with apologies to Henry Lee).

    Oh yeah...my bad.

As long as he doesn't get an addiction and require intervention which will take from valuable book writing time (and therefore depriving Marie of reading- the 9th deadly sin on my list).

Hey, if anybody's interested (and if you'll excuse this blatant whoring), Thrilling Wonder Stories, Volume 2 is now available for sale. The book includes stories by several Star Trek writers, including Larry Niven, David Gerrold, Melinda Snodgrass, Michael Reeves and Steve Perry, Norman Spinrad, and me. My story is entitled "Moon Over Luna." Though less expensive at the official site, it is also available on Amazon.

    Bugs Bunny. My hero.

I even dressed up as him the other day.

Made my order. Thanks for the nudge -- and it is a LOT cheaper direct from the publisher.

    Can't wait to read it.

I was going to blind buy it, but $999.99 seems a tiny bit excessive for shipping.:eek:

But I've added the first two volumes to my Amazon wish list. Someone else can pay for that shipping for me. :rommie:
