I forgot to charge my phone/camera and this is the best group picture I can find (though I'm hidden in the back). This year's Halloween party. I'm the cop hiding behind Walter White.
Here's my costume this year. I'm 33 years old, but I'm only 5'1" tall. If I carried a bucket I'd be mistaken for a kid, so I'm not going to take anything but the fake machete and my Sony Bloggie camera. Not sure how well other peoples' Halloween displays will show up, but I'm gonna try anyway! ETA: Just for fun, here's my spooky cover of Nightwish's "White Night Fantasy." Didn't really have time, money or reason to put together a costume this year (again)...but I am proud of my oldest daughter's Alexandria's costume. And so would Sheldon from "The Big Band Theory"! (And jealous!) My oldest daughter Alexandria went to school dressed as Schrödinger's cat today. (Seriously, it's quite a good costume she came up with last minute back body suit, car ears and tail and make-up - *one* eye X's out like she is dead - in a box that says "Property of Professor Schrodinger: If found please return to Professor Schrodinger" and on the contents label on the box it says something like Contents: 1 Cat. 1 Vial of Poison. 1. On Radioactive Isotope. I'll try to post a pic of her in full costume later - but she left for school before I could take any. It's kind her rebellion against all the "Sexy Kitty" (Sexy Nurse, Sexy Devil, Sexy Maid, Sexy Whatever) that seem to be all that a lot of stores carry for women - and even *little girls*!!!
^I totally agree. I rebelled too, that's why I'm wearing a hoodie and walking around with a Jason mask and fake machete. People won't even know I'm a woman unless I speak! XD It really BUGS me that nearly every costume for women or girls is a "sexy" this. While SOME of them are cute, the rest just come off as trashy to me. The sexiest Halloween costume I ever wore was a sorceress/witch/vampire dress, which I wore every year until some idiot ruined part of our Halloween display and my family stopped putting it out. I'm not voluptuous by ANY stretch, but I've got legs. I don't need a short skirt to show them off! (Yes, that's my real long hair, and I HATE TYPOS.)
^ That is awesome. So many great costumes this year! I'm the Princess of Love. I would have worn a white t-shirt with "Princess of Love" in red glitter with hearts, but I couldn't get the glitter glue to work right. So I went with plan B, which was my pony shirt. I think it worked. By the way, don't feel bad if you notice the baldness. I slicked my hair that way on purpose. This Princess is losing her feathers.
We had an office party today, and I went with a couple of friends to the hosting department. It appeared that more people participated this year - more employees in costumes, more food selections, etc. I'll post some pics later. Earlier this evening, I ended up handing out candy to trick-or-treaters (usually done by my mom, who's currently in another country). I grabbed a handful of candy and gave it to the early birds, so by 8:30 p.m., I was already out. Trick-or-treaters from around the neighborhood and yonder came in droves. This is the first time it's ever happened.
I was a mime. Wasn't a spectacular costume, but my niece had a great one! She was a Minion. I'm hoping she wins a local costume contest. People have to vote for her.
We had a great Halloween party in the office yesterday. I wore my new Trek gold/Command uniform. When asked if I was Captain Kirk, I responded, "No, Sulu." https://plus.google.com/109484030816553702401/posts/HavHGCwKnU1
