@Gingerbread Demon , please use the official video thread to post these one-off videos that don't have any surrounding discussion. Moving this one there now.
Best accidental find ever: I can only imagine certain timestamps would truly terrify anyone stoned, high and/or trippin'... I can also only imagine if hippies saw this video in HD on an 80" OLED screen in full native 10-bit, 240hz color... Now if they had made a similar one for "Jupiter's Child"...
skip to 0:21 if you remember the original voice, or watch only 0:00-0:20 if you don't want to hear the revised version, hehe...
The title is a litle missleading, its much deeper than that. Also, if you think Tyson is a mindless goon, think again.
I never met a Trek scene involving food that wasn't likeable... Well, mostly... If only Worf rephrased his assumption in the form of a question, and now I need to do a photoshop of Worf as a contestant on "Jeopardy", maybe even the parody one from that well-known sketch show that normally isn't anywhere as good as MadTV but sometimes outdoes it wildly so... also, I need to remember to buy some creamed spinach and beets...
Some of the homage was obvious but not always for the underlying reason. (I had thought "Oh look, they're doing a spacedock and lacked the budget so they nicked the model from ST3. Okay...") Others blew me away at how well they obfuscated the source and innovated/reimagined it and made it their own. (Sad as a fan of both movie and TV story.) Pretty good viewing, that one is...
I think the D was supposed to dock under the rim of the base saucer using docking ports on her spine, they just didn't have the budget to film it that way.
A shame, that would have been brill. Would make more sense too... still looked cool at the time, though!
