Yeah I know Sony and LG, well the TV we had had these goofy glasses with switching LCD shutters and it gave you a headache after a short while of use.

This is why I'm never an early adopter of anything. I'm quite happy being several years behind "the latest thing" as by then it's a hell of a lot cheaper and you're less likely to get caught up in fads, gimmicks and competing format wars between companies.

I like the thrill of the next tech device. So I'm perfectly happy to take a chance on brand new stuff. Though I'm not really interested in VR.

It's as "essential" as 1080p, which is to say that you could obviously live without it, but some years down the line it's gonna be the standard.

Having seen 1080p and 4K side-by-side on large screens, the quality of 4K is self-evident. But on smaller screens it isn't that important.

Cracking find Bob, just checked on the XB1 and it does seem like a price glitch, the collection is showing on sale for the next 7 days at £18, but the same bundle is also showing as free next to it. lol

Still, you can dl it and enjoy it off line if they revoke it, took a week i think lat time to revoke the F4 season pass, and give us all £7. :)

Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 are going to be $35 at Target for Black Friday, but with Cartwheel you can get the deal in-store early Nov. 9-10.

I purchased Battlefield 4 a while back when it was cheap and they had all the DLC for free on Origin. But man what a buggy piece of trash.

What kind of game is it, and will it be playable after the weekend still?

It's what some people these day are calling a "walking simulator", though I tend to think of it more as a collection of short stories told in an interactive medium where the environment is both the setting and the story teller. You play a young woman, just come come from university to find the family home empty and basically spend the whole time exploring the house, reading/listening to various letters and ephemera that tell the story of the people that live there.

There are some basic "gamey" puzzle elements, though that's mainly to unlock new areas of the house and ensure you 1) explore thoroughly and 2) get the various story pieces in more or less the right order.

Personally I really enjoyed it and I think it's very well done, though I understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea. Don't go in expected a creepy jump-scare experience, which is what I think some were expecting from the promotional material. The stories are very personal ones and I found it a nice way to spend a few hours, but don't expect any real replayability beyond that.

It's just for the weekend that it's free. But it's ours to keep.
